Services: LINKY ---> Clacket Lane Services at Motorway Services Info

Clackett Lane services between junctions 5 and 6 on the south side of the M25. I assume you and Empi5scn will end up doing M6/M40/M25 anti clockwise? If you're doing M1 then clockwise M25, we'll have to meet up at Maidstone services on the M20 - LINKY ---> Maidstone Services at Motorway Services Info

I'm also a bit gutted that I couldn't find a hi-viz this morning, and forced to pay a visit to the local Halfrauds and pay £7.50! I only paid £2 each from tesco when I got them before. :(

Maidstone will be a better bet... ill be coming from waltham abbey which is north london anyway.

You know that it is the weekend off the frankfurt auto show

Be prepared to see allot of new car that the show there and on the ring

Anyone bringing any cleaning kit?

Car is ready, just counting the days now.

See you at the Services guys.

Guess what I have 3 of in my wallet! ;)

Whats the deal with the vouchers,, we both bought a copy of redline, for a voucher each but can you hand copious amounts of vouchers over at once and get the same number of free laps.. ?

One at a time I believe, so I aim to hand one in Friday, one saturday and one sunday. ;)

Well we have 10 copies as we were cheeky and bought them at TRAX as the redline stand was selling the mags for £3 an issue, so we took advantage.

Shame our convoy is gradualy dwindling, 1 dropped out as smashed it last week at brands, another has put a conrod through the side of his block and the other is not finished, so if anybody needs a free ferry crossing a know of a few now.....lol and one has space for a trailor.

Only 3 days to go til we roll up outside the Grune Holle

Getting my euros tomorrow.

Well, for a mad couple hours we were down to 7 people and 4 cars for this trip, but thankfully that person saw sense!

Still on for Maidstone at midnight (ish) and Belgium to leave the services at 10am ish

As an aside, I have decided in hindsight that going to the Ring FIRST is not the best as all cars need unloading, etc, so the village of GUNDERATH is the primary destination and we'll go whichever way the satnav suggests is best. Rush hours not an issue so hopefully Brussels rush hour will not come into play around the ring road. :)

PS: Can anyone bring charcoal and firelighters / matches?

I'm going to bring a proper BBQ. The weather is looking quite nice, especially for the Friday, so I reckon we should BBQ & beer it up. At least saves some pennies compared to the restaurant in the village. :)

You lucky buggers, hope you enjoy the trip! Wish I was going again. Also hope theres no issues with any of your cars either! Ive just been informed that my car is STILL in Germany. So if your in the town of Adenau under the bridge, there is a yellow garage, and my vRS 'should' be parked outside still!

We had a minor emergency earlier this week with Beryl, all will be revealed at the weekend hopefully

hopefully Brussels rush hour will not come into play around the ring road. :)

No turning off for Liege at the last minute then  LOL

We could get the BBQ stuff at the local Lidl or Rewe, saves on weight on the way over

In case that all stores are closed, most gasstations have charcoal, matches and firelighters.

But Lidl, Aldi & co should be open till 20h.

Just calculated the journey.... 606miles from my house to adenau... place your bets to see if ill get there on 2 tanks... i may have to fill up again before i even leave the UK :o

Gunderath is a good way south of Adenau. ;) more like 630 then. For me it's about 570 - 580 to still some way.

Actually, it's 555  Make a mental note that when heading south on the final autobahnn we come off to use the 410 at Prum, signposted Gerolstein.

 if only the furb was still with me, thats one tank easily

How many miles is the belgian services from maidstone services lol...

Although one would assume the google maps calc includes the 40 miles on the ferry....... might be do-able LOL

37 miles I think Maidstone services to Dover - I remember looking at that when I was looking at meeting times.

add on about 30 to 35 miles from Dunkerque to Belgium. :)

will have to work out details at maidstone, may tank up there, or splash n dash.. its much of a muchness for me as will be assuming position for bank charges in using my card in europe anyway :(

If filling up in B or D, try to avoid the motorway gas stations. If someone has a sat nav, try to find gas stations near the autobahn/snelweg (=motorway;)).

Price can differ a lot.

Germany is cheaper on petrol, belgium on diesel.

But at the end it is only a few beers that you can save ;)

Yeah - Belgian cheap(er) diesel FTW. I will be splashing in a tenner tonight on top of my current 170 miles to go, and seeing what happens :D

Just got my euros - €100 cost me £93 :thumbdwn:
