Looks like the ferry has been booked for all coming, but WSS is apparently a discount code for Norfolkline.

I can't believe that out of nearly 48,000 members we can't muster up a full 8 who are willing to come on this trip. What is it? Credit crunch? Scared? Just not the same or as easier as it was seemingly lst year. And I've dragged in a mate & his missus who doesn't even really use this forum.

Everyone I've asked either can't book the time as holiday at short notice, or are worried about it being too expensive what with the rubbish exchange rate and the price of fuel.

If you share a car though it works out pretty cheap

I was working for a guy this week, who was working on his gorgeous MGB GT & was mildly interested in coming. I'm gonna try him again later today now that he's had a little contemplation time! ;)

:P I can only have 1 named driver for free, so chances are with Xav being "european" I'll let him drive much of the journey once in France. :) Give me a rest after driving from Devon to Dover.

I have money! :D:D Jamie's petrol money!!

Yeah it'll be a hell of a driving day for you guys :thumbdwn:

Not actually too bad and I may yet do it all myself. 8 hours behind the wheel isn't that bad, especially with a nice 3 hour+ break for the ferry

Been waiting for a ring trip to come up on here all year and managed to miss the thread! I would have definitely came too but I'm now off next weekend :( Have fun though guys

Missed TWO threads and all the hints in my signature? :P Been on Briskoda at all? :D

Don't tempt me!

Is this a trip as a passenger, driver, or either?

Must go and check my insurance - if only to see how the ring is excluded....

:) It's either but cheaper for you & Neo if you went as passenger. There is no insurance or blame on tracks but some promoter is trying to sell some sort of cover (check back a few pages for a large cautionary post).

I'm not bothering thinking about being insured on the Ring itself. Just driving it with utmost respect for others and hope 99.9% of everyone else using it is the same.

Unless you can convince Neo_VR to have you as a passenger, this is better to be a driver + car space.

So - still no one wants that final spot? :)

  • Author

Woops! Now Xav can't come either. TWO spaces free now, one of them as a passenger in the mongrel. :)

Come on. Someone must want an experience of a lifetime going round the ring in the mongrel :D I'm so gutted I can't make it now :(

Happy to have along another driver & passenger combo.

I am more than capable of doing the whole thing on my tod.

OK - At this short notice, I don't think anyone off here is going to take up these spare places, so in order Jomo and Xav get their money back, I have put the offer up on the Northloop forum, where there is much more of a Nurburgring focussed audience.

*fingers crossed*

Splitting the cost of fuel and ferry you can do it as a driver plus a passenger for less than £300 each, including 4 laps on the Ring. Bargain

If it's ok with you Jason I could ask some mates of mine that are going the same weekend? They were going to camp but if we're stuck filling the two spots in the cabin they might be persuaded to upgrade to a proper roof over their heads

Sure - Got to the point now where I don't care who comes, as long as they're not anti-social, psycho nutjobs.

:( Oh!! :( But I was really looking forward to going! :P;)

Jason et all,

not sure how far out we've been asking on other forums. I'm happy to post on SCN (although I rarely go there)...

Can't anyone pulla SF sicky for a few days

Hope you have a fantastic trip guys, I just got back yesterday from a 5 day visit there. I only saw 2 other Furby vRSs whilst I was there and neither had Brisky stickers. Biggest expense by far - £222 for a 15 lap ring ticket and I bought a few extra - best tip I can give you for saving money is go to Lidl and buy all your lunches from there - I only spent about £160 and I bought a 'Ring mug'! I've been a few times now so would love to go with a few other Brisky members next time. Best time I posted was a 9'54" or something - I managed to film a good lap with a Gekko camera mount from inside the car which I'll post up when I get a chance. It was about a 10'30 but under 2 yellow flags, someone came off right in front of me and I nearly got a hit by a bit of bodywork off a GT3. Should be good viewing!

Have fun, John
