oooh yeah, now your talking :D

If all else fails throw your money at something new for the engine bay ;)

I found this from another forum, a quick test for the PCV

"If you have the stock PCV system, an easy way to check to see if it's blown is to do the "blow" test. Where the PCV hose hooks to the intake manifold, remove it from the intake manifold and blow air into the hose. If air passes easily through the hose and through the PCV, then it's blown. If you try to blow in the hose and there is a lot of resistance or you are unable to pass any air through it, then your PCV is fine and its not that."

swopped my pcv mickey , made no difference at all.

Did you take off the PCV cover and check the gasket or did you just swap over the hose between the crankcase and intake manifold?

swopped the unit and checked the gasket as well

has your car gone tits as well pete?? Or where you refering to carls PCV.

I reckon drop a ed30/cupra or S3 engine in, transfer your exhaust, intake and fuel pump over revo it and enjoy 360 stallions and some severe increase in tyre wear.

wonder how much one of those engine goes for i bet its not that much or pretty similar priced to the K04 conversion. plus you get to sell your old engine on

Well things are looking up :D:D:D

The car now feels like an Exocet missile. The pull thru the gears is absolutley phenomenal and Mickey32 (thanks very much )has been doing some timing runs for me and he is getting comparable timings.

I am going to get it back on the Rollers to see (won't be till next week) but it seems a combination of the pipe i replaced and time (maybe the ECU needed time to adapt) has made the car come to life.

Im not saying it is definately fixed i will wait for the rolling road to be the definitive answer but things are looking up :):)

I've got everything crossed :D

A big big thanks to Pete & Mickey for their efforts in helping to diagnose the problem

Were not out of the woods yet Bry but i can definately see a clearing :D:D:D

result, lets hope its gone and not coming back. how does it feel as a pose to stage 2 then.

whats the general consensus then. was it the swelling pipe or the PCV

Swelling pipe as thats all that i replaced ( i bought a PCV but when i put it on the problem was worse:mad:)

Compared to Stage 2 the pull is a lot lot harder in the lower gears. It seems the same higher up BUT it pulls harder for longer over 4500 RPM

Lets just say i may have doubled the motorway speed limit from standstill in a very short time ;):D

Carl:thumbup:

Good news then, Carl.

Good to hear all is well Carl :)

Carl:thumbup:

take it you must have been in germany then at that speed then cos that would be really naughty else.

I might order the autotech internals and have a go at fitting them myself(although not very confident about doing it) then we can compare the two different stage 2+ maps. be very interesting. im in uk from the 7th sept in chatham for two years

Carl i'll do the 50-100mph(3rd 4th) timings tomorrow, should be in Germany by then.

That sounds like a result Carl.

Do you still want a big one or not? :D

Carl, welcome to the kingdom of stage2+ TFSI ownership.

I've just been for a good run to clear my mind and feck me I love my car :D

:woot:

Nice one Carl - hope all is now well.

Give me first refusal but it's going to be harder to wangle if my Turbo is fine

Put it in valet mode. That'll fool 'em. ;)
