Facelift, what facelift?

Featured Replies

Popped into my dealer today to book a service and they had a "facelifted" Fabia vRS in the showroom. On a coursory examination the only visible change I could see was the new rear light cluster and smaller vRS badge on the rear. The much-heralded improved interior seems to have passed the vRS by. Or did I miss something..?

I seem to remember someone on here saying the handbrake was coulr coded with the seats? Think that and the rear clusters are about it, you'd have thought they'd have stuck in some climate control and maybe better rear seats with an arm rest so it's definately only a 4 person? Although those with rugrats might be put off by that?

Hicksy :D

The change IIRC is far more visible on the otehr fabia's as the vRS has most of the new bits owing to it's furby flagship status.

Bit hard to use the term "facelift" on the Fabia vRS, bearing in mind the only major cosmetic change is at the other end :D

Don't complain, at least it shouldn't affect the prices of ours.

I drive a proper sized car thanks ;)

They have changed the dash moulding from a hard finish to a soft finish, it's slightly squidgy like my Golf IV. My local dealer hadn't noticed this change as it looks exactly the same as before! They've got rid of the lock buttons on the rear doors, changed back lights.. think that's it! I'm ordering mine this weekend! :)

That is it.....smoother rear light cluster, smaller thicker vRS badge, no rear lock buttons and softer dash (much like my previous Mk4 Golf).....Thats the facelift folks

I have a pre-facelift vRS on a 54 plate. It has the smaller vRS badge and a slightly squidgy dash already. So the only difference between late pre-facelift models and the facelift version is the rear light clusters and no rear lock buttons.

WOW!

No sorry that was me, it was a photo on hear, in the end we came to the conclusion it was the sunlight reflecting off it! :)

The dash is exactly the same,

Very few changes on the 05 vRS as the base models now emulate the popular sporty model.

There are some changes under the skin you may not be aware of though, the 05 Fabia has an updated ABS system and some changes to the 'Boardnetz' electric control unit.

Not very interesting but it at least shows Skoda are still very interested in developing their little 'un.

Hadn't realised my car wasnt "proper" sized before :)

Should this be called an "arselift" then? Seeing as it's the rear that's had the change? lol

What's this about a lock button in the rear?

I've never seen this before... Maybe I haven't been in the back for long enough, but I thought the only lock button was on the drivers door???

"arselift" ?

Josh, haven't seen one so can't say for sure, but I think they're on about the little silver pop-up thingies on the door that indicate whether the door is locked - down, flush with the door, or unlocked in which case they pop out. The door trim doesn't have the hole by the B pillar for the pin to stick out.

Ahhh, you mean door pins then!!!

Them the ones mate :)

I have the faclifted Vrs ... picked it up today. No real changes evident other than the rear light cluster.

Well done BlackVelvet, enjoying it?

How many times have you washed it so far? ;)

If you havent, look into Supaguard, or DiamondBrite makes life alot easier with Black Magic trust me. Just dont pay dealer prices, have a search on here.

It may not have the door pin, or the hole for one to stick out of, but there's still a bit of a bulge where it would have been - one of the things I DON'T like about my facelift farb...

The Facelift model vRS IIRC comes with a rear center 3 point seat belt and a third headrest as well.

As standard???

I'll confirm that in 3 weeks time!
