Where/how are you finding this information?

I'd also like to know what ports are used.

For me it's a combination of:http://www.portoftyneonline.co.uk/harbour/expected_shipping.asp (where RORO 3 and RORO 4 are the VAG Tyne Distribution Centre) then use this to track the ship...http://www.shipais.com/showship.php?mmsi=233150000 been following the 'Sunderland all day watching it creep up the coast :D

  • Although dealers may indeed give differing stories as to build dates and arrival at dealer there is a mitigating reason for this. Two cars may be built on the same day and trained upto Emden together

What IJ has used and link to news that VW use Grimsby

http://www.abport.co.uk/news2000597.htm

Also checked ships spec and the ones across the North Sea from Emden are very small, only holding 800 cars, 10000 tons and 330ft long. These are small, ocean going ones take 6000 cars in one go!

Still means I've got a month of looking for my car over the horizon! (and time for more useless facts!!)

I've no idea where mine might come into the UK - I'm about as far from any of these north east ports as you can possibly get.

Assuming your car is on one of the 2 ships into Newcastle today, it will be interesting to see how long it takes before it rolls up at your dealer.

Which dealer have you bought from?

Silbury in Cramlington, so just a short hop up the A19...fingers crossed...

Mine is now at the dealers, just arranging a pick up day.

Savouring every last moment in my Fabas vRS in the meantime, it's been a cracking car and I hope the new Octavia will be a worthy replacement.

Having never owned an Skoda before I feel the same about my super reliable Ford Escort, never let me down and she is 12 yrs old and still going strong, I hope the Octavia will be just as reliable.

I should have had my car today, but due to a "deviation of the criteria based standards of competence" on my behalf & a little on someone else's behalf, I've got to wait until either late today or tomorrow morning.

Oh Bum! >-(

Tel from dealer 3.12.09 that my car is due at dealership Friday. Octavia Vrs Estate ordered 22.9.09. To be PDI'd and pick up on Tuesday. Can't wait.

Speak English man !!!!!!!!!

You've cocked up on the cash front ???

Not on the cash front, on the date front.

I got the insurance changed on the wrong day! Doh!

The salesman forgot to add the sports suspension & 17" alloys to the paperwork as well, then the computer refused to allow him to amend the finance, so that involved a very long phone call to SUKF to get them to allow him amend the finance deal, not entirely his fault as I added it late in the day of ordering.

So tomorrow @ noon will now be the day! Yes!

I'll try and stop off somewhere quiet and get some photos of it, that's if the weather stays fine.

Going to pick mine up on Tuesday.

We're a long way from the Tyne, but the last one came from there.

There was another car carrier, the Autopride, that came into Sheerness from Emden early this morning.

Is this a possible route? It left Sheerness this afternoon, and was being tracked, but has gone off the AIS map at the moment.

It's been a long wait. 12 weeks for me.

Cheers, Ian.

Hope you get yours soon, got my Race Blue Tdi from Silbury three weeks ago & although I deliver Hire Cars all over the North East I have yet to see another FL VRS on the road & begining to wonder where everyone else is.

Brilliant car - much better than my old VRS.

I drive 500+ miles a week and have to date seen only about 4 FL Octys, none of them vRS's. I did see a vRS LE a few weeks back though but that doesn't count - old shape ;-)

Well mines now at Grimsby so end of next week I would guess :)

I do about 750 a week and too have seen few FL octavias, only 1 was a vRS, and that was a demonstrator out of Bedford. It was Red and I didn't like it. Are all current owners waiting for the same day and then a mass journey out to show them all off ? !! . . . . ordered 6/10/09, build week 51, delivery god know when. Dealer has been shocking with communication and queries. So much so that I was last told that I could "take it or leave it" when asking him to honor the price he told me on the 3rd. He since added the price increase of the 1st october. GIT (Progress Watford)

It's here, it's smooth, quiet & comfy.

Still getting used to the DSG box though after all these years on a manual, so does the odd lurch (lol), but that'll come with a bit of practice.

Just one annoyance the wheel that I bought from ebay can't be the right one as it means that the floor sits slightly proud, so I guess I'll have to buy a new one from the dealer which is a bit of a bugger!

All in all though very happy indeed.

I'll get some pictures done as soon as I can, I've got a lot of work to do on the computer today, so it'll be a couple of days before I can do them.

Well I'm getting quite annoyed now. My motor, that I ordered on the 6th of September, according to the dealers may be delayed till the end of Jan. It's not like I've ordered anything special.

It's only a 1.8tsi L&K Combi in black magic, with black leather and bluetooth phone.

Harummmpth !!!! :'(

Wow, that's 5 months. Shocking!!!!

Picked up my 1.4 tsi SE on Friday last, ordered on 6th October, 8 weeks in total. I spoke to my dealer about late deliveries and he seems to think that a lot of dealers are suffering with cash flow problems with Skoda UK, hence some dealers are struggling more than othjers.
