  • Although dealers may indeed give differing stories as to build dates and arrival at dealer there is a mitigating reason for this. Two cars may be built on the same day and trained upto Emden together

I ordered mine on 28th Sept and it arrived in Grimsby yesterday but car will not be at dealers until next week or the New Year.

Aiming for 9th January collection so making it 15 weeks less 2 days

I too can not understand why mine seems to have taken several weeks more than most recent deliveries, its not an unusual spec other than possibly the Bluetooth phone system

I have got to be in with a shout for the longest lead time.

Ordered 5 September, supposed to be built this week, but I understand that the factory is shut for Christmas. At the earliest it looks like a mid Jan delivery.

I make it 17 weeks to 2nd January 2010 and still counting.

Picies ASAP please, still haven't seen a Black Estate in UK spec.

I desperatly need reassurance that black was the right choice, especially after seeing Bandit 1's silver VRS estate which looks bril

Thanks in anticipation

Yes, you win emoticon-0120-doh.gif

So yours is a week 52 build, mine was week 51 and it only took 6 days from actual build to arrival in UK

Will do! It's just a basic spec with spare wheel, will be interested to see if it comes with Maxidot after one of the other threads mentioned it's now included in DSG trim :)

Right there has to be a record for the longest lead time???

I ordered mine on the 26th Oct and up to now all i've been told is that it'll be built week 1! So the expected delivery dat could be as late as the 27/28th Jan!!

It's only a White VRS CR with maxidot, MDI, spare wheel (thanks for the advice guys) and heated seats. Not the earth!!

Has the dealer sat on it or are Skoda struggling with orders for FL octavias????

I ordered my VRS hatch in Anthracite with Xenons, Leather, Maxidot, Heated seats, Auto dimming mirror & a full size spare wheel about 10 days before your order & have been given a build of week one....I think if it doesn't arrive by Feb 1st I'll ask the dealer to hold reg. until March 1st.

Yep, that beats me too.

I ordered 21st Sept, built wk 49 and is sat at the dealers now. I will collect it 29th Dec so 15 weeks in total.

Both dealers I approached said 8-10 weeks with a delivery before xmas more than likely. All I can say is that it'd better be worth it!!!

It would appear that the dealers are particularly out of touch with what the factory can actually deliver!! Which I can't believe in this day and age is possible. I've seen how efficient the modern day tracking systems work within motor manufacturers and as such find it difficult to understand why this information/systems cannot be forwarded to the dealers.

To be fair it's no different in Mini, VW, Skoda or even Mercedes. I've had the same prob with the 1st three and my mates just bought a new C250cdi which was 4 weeks latefrom the initial promised dealer date. The only difference there being that his trade in A3 was sold a fortnight after the 'promised delivery date' and the dealer lent him a car to bridge the gap.

Shame I wouldn't of minded a superb or a petrol octy vrs!!

Are there only a select few ports that Skoda's get delivered into?

I was sort of hoping I could trace my car coming into the country or certainly on it's way over from wherever it is being built.

I've had a look and used the shipping link posted a lot earlier in this thread.

Cheers in advance.

oooh also, has anyone had experience of handing back a car at the end of its agreement or earlier and had things on the car that shouldn't of passed the fair wear and tear agreement.

Just contacted the dealer ship to say I wont be able to pick it up until the new year and I got a shock. The car can be ready to pick up by tomorrow!!! So I've got abit of rushing around to do now d'oh!

Also the cut off date for having it registered in the new year is the 14th December, my car has been waiting to be delivered to the dealership for over a week.

Picking mine up 30th December originally order 30th September

Sorry they're not great, but:

First impressions, impressed with build quality, briefly tried out the flappy paddles and worked great, DSG is so smooth it's very hard to tell when the gears are shifting. Came with Dunlops on, the full size spare is a Goodyear.

Also, didn't order with Maxidot but it would indeed now appear to be standard with DSG on the vRS :D

Well my new car finally arrived at the dealer yesterday (ordered 26th Sept) but I'm not picking it up until middle of Jan as on hols just after Christmas and didn't fancy leaving a brand new shiny octavia in the airport carpark for a week.

The dealer has confirmed that I'm protected from the extra VAT (after prompting), but has only gone and registered the car already even though I specifically told him last week I wanted it registering in 2010 :wall: Why do they never listen to a word you say to them!

That is terrible, I personally would refuse the car or demand £400 compensation

That is going to be the difference a 2010 car makes over a 2009 car in 2 years time

You, the customer has come second to his sales targets

I would also suggest he is breach of contract in not following your reasonable instructions

I was told the dealerships were under pressure from Skoda to register all vehicles in their poccession before 31st Dec to ensure they didn't needlessly incur the extra VAT. My understanding is that Skoda will protect customers against the VAT increase if cars arrive after 1st Jan.

How did the dealer manage to register it with DVLA in your name without you supplying an insurance certificate?

They only need insurance to tax it, you get a confirmation thing to sign on the day and the V5 arrives shortly after. Mine was registered and I took out the Skoda 7 day cover on the day of the pickup.

Once again, when calling the dealer and asking for the salesman to call me back I get no reply and then when I call back I am informed that no one is available until next week... This call wasn't even to chase a date (although I was going to mention that again), but to let them know that I have moved house so need them to update their records... Getting really annoyed at the general lack of communication from my dealer and know I won't be using them again

VRS CR ordered 30th September, delivery date sometime in 2010....

I think finding good customer service when it comes to sales is very difficult.

I've had a Skoda for nearly seven years and in that time used 3 different dealers for service. 1 was rubbish, 1 mediocre and my current one is very good. Sales on the other had at my current dealership is pretty poor, as it was at the Seat dealership that I looked at as an alternative.

The only Sales team that did seem to be customer focused was Mitsubishi, but this may have something to do with the volume of sales each dealership is doing.

Edit: Oh, and I recently purchased an Abarth and the sales team there were very customer focused as well

Looks great in black! Have hardly seen any face-lifted on the road, except one, which stood out cos of running lights. I've ordered in Candy White with Xenons, sensors, auto lights and wipers, plus manual box. Wished I'd read more of the forums earlier, as wanted Blue-tooth, but didn't know you had to have DSG and Maxidot to be able to have it.

Still don't have a delivery date (ordered 10 Oct to ensure 31 Dec delivery date)

From experience I would have expected them to know by now. Perhaps there are delays in updating the build date due to the Christmas break?

Off to pick up my car today - can't wait :)

Ordered 21st Sept, so it's been 15 weeks for me. A bit longer than estimated, but hopefully worth the wait.

hopefully I will be picking my up tomorrow been having trouble with skodas 7 day insurance as they have switched over to a different underwriter. Just awaiting a call back now. Have to say I cant wait.......where to drive first?
