  • Picked up the new VRS: 2013 Fabia VRS by Graeme_Smith, on Flickr

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

  • modified the cup holder     It's now a hobnob holder

Washed, dried, vacuumed, polished, cleaned the F'in silver seats (again), did a four wheel swop, front to back, back to front, test drove it to make sure wheel balance wasn't affected (it wasn't, if anything it felt better), then parked it up.

Busy day. Absolutely knackered. :giggle:

There are going to be a few shocked here, but....................................

Washed it using 2 buckets, shampoo and a microfibre cloth, then started to polish it with some Autoglym I found in the cupboard. Got the bonnet, wings and roof done before i had to come to work.

I might finish it one day.

Well I washed it ON Tuesday and noticed a smashed foglight, seeing as the other already had a crack in the lens decided to replace both.

Thought I'd get some lamin-x to protect them too, and decided it'd be easier to do it before I put them on;

Just need to get my hands on a t25 and t30 torx bits and I can fit them.

Also yesterday I noticed some moron had damaged my front numberplate, looks like someone's scraped it with the corner of their bumper :/

Washed it, found a defect in the paintwork, warranty claim tomorrow.

Now wishing I hadn't washed it as perfect paintwork isn't perfect :(

Changed the vRS estate for a Rapid this afternoon! :) and :( faces!

Rapid a lot more practical and family like car.

Just not as 'Rapid'..... ;)

Indeed, although just been out for a 30 mile drive and I can see immediately the Rapid rides better even though I have the same profile tyres, handles just as well and is built better. Doors shut with a nice thud!

Makes the fabia seem old and dated in comparison.

Ordered full LED interior and number plate bulbs from Fizzmo - something I've been meaning to do for ages!

Summer wheels on the other day so spent the morning de-stoning and cleaning the winters ready for their summer hibernation.

I changed the buttons in my remote. They were really worn out so a couple quid later it now looks like a new keyfob again :D

Drove to the station to join train to work. Raining now, so hopefully all my polishing over the past week will result in some excellent beading!

More stuff removed. Still haven't attempted to remove the turbo yet.

removed a warning light from the dash board by topping up the washer fluid, I like easy fixes to warning lights :)

how and where please?

Pull the key apart as if you were changing the battery and then just pick the old button pad out. Mine was quite stuck in so needed a stanley blade to persuade it out. Put the new one in and then put the key back together and it will look like new

The replacement part - £1.95 from ebay - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Golf-Seat-Ibiza-Leon-Skoda-Fabia-Octavia-3-button-Remote-Key-Fob-Rubber-Pad-/281088667908?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Safety_Security&hash=item417230b104

Cheers fella. Just had a look at my fob and it's better than I thought it was

Cheap fix though

'S 'ow we roll bitches. Fixed "Norrland edition". Aftermarket replacement signal horn from a 2006 Nissan Sentra. Took ten minutes to make the wiring and I got the signal horn for free. Signal horn is 45 quid from VAG.

Took my winter tyres off...again.

Hopefully the weather will now warm up (I said that on 1st March)

Yes..... the cold weather was my fault for taking them off too early!!

Found that some ***** hit my rear quarter in the car park today and drove off. No CCTV... I'm absolutely raving... On the plus side, it gives me the perfect excuse to get it sorted now - my newly aquired dent, the couple which had been there since I had it...

Washed, polished and waxed. Then it rained :D.
