  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

My dad's just had to put a new battery on his Jetta, that's done 8 years as well., got it replaced a couple of weeks ago. Vasstech said it was running at less than half capacity.

Fitted parking sensors, rear bumper protector and gave her a much needed wash.

Cleaned it yesterday, drove it down some moist roads today. It's filthy again, I don't know why I bother!  :D

Took it to a nice man who managed to get my mangled locking wheel nuts off.

Now have a full set of winter wheels fitted. With yeti wheel trims. 16" and plastic trims. Nice.

Fully LED'd up now

...but just for the day while mine was at the dealers. Looks good and was comfy and quiet, but I wasn't keen on the steering feedback (there wasn't any) and a clutch than only bit in the final half inch of travel. Oh, and I obviously expected a 60 BHP 3 pot to move the car faster than it did - too spoiled by the Yeti!

drove it 330 miles + a ferry yesterday, filled it with baby stuff this morning and currently on the ferry headed back to belfast for the other 230mls to get home... Oh joy...

You know the saying don't you?  theres no faster car than a hire car :D

Moved it 3ft to the left.

Had the Sport serviced.

Finally fitted winter wheels and tyres to the mk2

Took it for its MOT. Passed but needs a tyre. Didn't register anything at all on the emissions gizmo the garage had.

Hoovered it out so the interiors spotless

I refuse to wash the outside cos its going to the Detailers on tuesday for a day of pampering! Woo!

Should be all waxed up n ready for winter when i pick it back up (:

Gave my octy a much needed clean (friday) & today with the help from Phil-E on here,we fitted the HID kit to my car.

Gave it a nice clean after fitting the gloss black vinyl wrap on the roof :)

For a moment I thought you said dealers and thought what are you thinking?

Haha. Nah. I ask them not to let their monkeys touch it :) haha.

Same here. Had to read it twice. Thought we had a nutter on our hands!

Fitted a pd150 turbo after mine went kaboom last week. Hopefully have it started tomorrow.

Been rather busy this weekend. Yesterday's first mission was to sort out the dodgy light stalk which keep turning the lights off when you dipped them :D

Perfect motivation to fit the cruise control stalk that's been lurking in the garage for months.

So I fitted it and the stalk to baulk head loom. Then I realised I needed the baulk head to ecu loom. School boy error. Nevermind, ithe bits to complete the job have been ordered and should arrive this week. Then it should be a case of plug the computer in and activate the cruise control

While I had the dashboard in pieces it was the ideal time to put my Parrot hands free kit in. Very easy plug and play.

I mounted the control unit by drilling 4 small holes in the switch blank and cable tying the mounting prongs at the back of it. Sits nice and solid.

Today's mission was change the oil and fit my Forge baffled sump. Just as well I had a new sump to go on as the previous owner had stripped the thread on the sump plug and it was held in by sealant.

Whilst the sump was off I changed the oil pick up pipe. Old one didn't look too bad but for what they cost it's a no brainer.

New baffled sump on, oil filter changed and engine refilled with oil. Job done.

Also treated myself to a little early xmas gift when I was in Halfords this morning. They had a set of spanners from 6mm up to 32mm at £50 instead of £100 :D
