What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Took it for its MOT. Passed but needs a tyre. Didn't register anything at all on the emissions gizmo the garage had.

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Washed about 6 weeks of crap off the Octi!! Snow foamed, bill berry wheel clean, rinsed, washed with wash mitt and Zymol shampoo (bloody good stuff by the way!), rinsed and wiped down with a drying towel and Megs speed detailer. Hoovered and glass wiped down with a micro fire cloth. Topped up the oil.

Discovered the G450 sensor is dicky. I've checked and it's one of made in the US dodgy ones. Trip to TPS tomorrow morning I think.

Power-washed the worst of the salty-crud off it then a handwash with some wax in it, then drove it home ... in the snow :x

put the seats back together after the trip. Thought about washing it but didnt have time. . Hopefully the rain falling now will take the worst of it off...

All this talk of washing, I really should do mine. My little girl who is 3 in January keeps asking to clean my car, but I fear it is a little too cold for her although it is very sweet that she offers

No idea but I've got the paperwork which is all that matters to me. I'd have thought it shouldn't fail on emissions anyway.

Decided that rather than drive to work the usual way I'd park it sort of on the path, the road and some grass. Fecking black ice.

Grass is good to stop on though so all is well. There was nothing important like lamp-posts in the way, just a group of small school children, but they were soft and squishy and wiped off easily.

my 10yr old diesel registered 25ppm in its nct emmissions last month. Limit for failure for the age is 250.... Emmissions is somewhat of a non factor usually these days with cleaner fuels etc

Taken it into the Detailers (no guys, not Dealers haha) for a days treatment.

I'll update this when i get it back ;).

Put a fuse back in for the headlight washers, all back working. God knows why I took it out or where I put the fuse, but glad it was down to stupidity and not being broken.

Hmm... scraped the ice off while thinking if I should change it for an L&K or a Merc (if I win the Lottery)

Did the winter protection and had it serviced

Changed a number plate bulb.

Was pleasantly surprised to see the 'covers' for the bulbs were torq screwed into place and not of the brittle plastic 'clip' style securing that loved to snap on my previous French car. Got to love German engineering, it is the simple things.

Upgraded maps to v12 - 8195.

filled it up. Nice it was only £62. Shame the person who used the pump before didn't get all the fuel out so as I stretched it over the car, it poured down the side :(

Damn :(.

Over the car?

Now if you parked the right way round, that woulda been free fuel ;)

Yup, but no free pumps so I never bother waiting. Looks great now mixed with all the grime :(

Normally it's not an issue, they all reach but this is the first time it has let out a fair whack of fuel. Need some rain now

changed my wheel centes today for the new type I bought from Karl. I also swapped the wheels front/back so they wear out evenly. The new badges really suit black alloys IMO
