  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

  • modified the cup holder     It's now a hobnob holder

Used it as a van for carting bits of my old Beetle backwards and forwards between the house and the garage.

fitted new HID style bulbs in the dipped and full beam and also replaced orange indicator bulbs with silver ones.

You will blind people with Hids on the full beam, as they are not projection in full beam so light scatter everywhere

I'd agree - but at the same time can see the logic with full beam that the only time they're used full-time is when there's nothing in front of you, at night :)

But in performance terms I'd still go with a set of decent uprated halogens, as the actual light performance will be better, than an HID setup that's not running behind a projector lens.

Stuck my second newly acquired Briskoda sticker in the wife's car:

Mine already has one (though it's more subtle due to sunset glass):

cleaned the castle combe mud out of the car, and was pleasantly suprised to find i had used no oil whilst going round the track!

not bad for 164k engine

rolled rear arches, part fitted fmic due top wrong parts. :wall:

Blew off a diesel Audi TT, what a sheep in wolf's clothing.

(It was dry fortunately).

just got home after 1030 mile trip in 4 days .... car didn't skip a beat and went through 1 & 1/2 tanks of diesel.

My Briskoda sticker is the other side in my very similar also Candy White Superb Estate :hi:

I complained to the lease company about the wheel nut covers - on return from the bodyshop all my nut covers are stained white. Tried everything in my detailing arsenal but can't shift it. New set required. :wall:

Had this come in the post today....

Nice mod. Did you alter the originals, or put different ones in?

Got some s3 handles that we're too big so removed the white bit in the video and put them into my oem handles

Superb Elegance

Well yesterday, I decided to paint the vents black. Unfortunately, in my rush, i chose the wrong kind of paint so it ended up looking like crap. Anyway, i had to grind it down a bit so now it looks decent, but its also a very slight difference from the original grayish-black.

I also had my new flip out key cut and moved the immo chip to it from the old one.

Unless the $hit its the fan today at the 'shop, I'll probably paint the grille black as well. That chrome looks hideous.

How did you remove the immobiliser chip? I tried that and the thing just shattered, I had to get a whole new key :swear:

Ah, now here's the thing. I pried the key apart and it kinda fell out.

But I know what you mean. if you use a tiny flat electronics screwdriver and push underneath the light button's negative pole, you can effectively reach under the immo chip and push it up. It is sealed so some sort of oil or soap might help as well.

I think the part you are talking about is the central locking circuitboard - I meant the little glass baed containing a wire coil I think that's an RF ID chip. I tried to transfer mine to a new key shell and that broke! In the thubnail, the part the arrow points to.

Actually, its spot on accurate. However, I went from a non remote to remote key. Mostly because the old one embedded itself in my thigh in a motorcycle accident. Not something I intend to repeat.
