What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

Well not me specifically but I did pay for it all...

Full service (at 126,000 miles) plus pads all round and two new rear shockers as one was leaking...

  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Insured it through sky insurance (site sponsor) and saved a bundle. £350 cheaper than the cheapest comparison site quotes and that was before they adjust for the modifications not being listed properly when you try to buy.

Washed mine using the 3 bucket and 6 watering can method, damn hosepipe ban. :giggle:

Nuts to that - had the local valeters over to wash ours for us - £20 quid the pair. Can't argue with that price :)

Replaced the dipped bulbs as one had blown

Took it to local garage to see why it felt the need to relieve itself of coolant all over my driveway. Heres hoping the warranty covers it........

renewed road tax (11 days late, oops!) didnt realise it had ran out until this evening. got pulled over a few days ago too, they checked my licence and insurance but didnt seem to notice it was untaxed thank god :giggle:

I drove mine today, like I have done almost every day of the year

Sprayed 2/4 Steelies in Rover Race Green.

Removed and added some stickers and also finally stuck the new front vRS badge on:

Hoovered and washed the EST using the 3 bucket and 6 watering can method,

Will be glad when the 'ban has been lifted.

Hmmmm...

- cleaned out

- vacuumed

- filled with V-Power diesel

- filled tyres

- filled screenwash

- fitted 8v badge

All in all, success. :)

Re-badged the tailgate - not sure if it looks quite right though :S - Opinions sought!:

er what is different

Took it to the dealer to get new front and rear badges ordered for fitting on Friday

'Corrosion'

took it to the garage & had both front shocks, top mounts & drop links replaced, came to £380.00, is it a fair price for the work done?

Depends which Dampers

Got it back from the bodyshop for a second time - wheel nut covers all stained and slight patch of overspray (or something) on drivers door. All sorted now though!

Went to Awesome to get Eibach pro springs and rear spacers fitted, but had to endure 6 hrs in Trafford Centre shopping with swmbo whilst waiting :@

6 hours!

6 hours!

You spend more time than that washing your wheels :giggle:

Two hours for the wheels don't exaggerate

Yes, 6hrs in the TC... I still had to wait nearly an hour after that waiting for the alignment! Sorry Awesome but you have lost any potential future custom from me.

1. when booking it in over 2 weeks ago, I was offered a courtesy car (planned with swmbo as we were both off work to visit TC and a motorhome sales place). 5 mins before setting off to Awesome, received a call saying this was not possible (did I want to re-arrange!) noooo. offered to split the taxi fare to/from TC.

2. As it was only going to take 2/3hrs not a big issue, visit Motorhome place after car done... after 4hrs decided to call them, to then be told it'll be ready between 4 and 5 arghhh! whatever, happened to customer services and informing us?

3. feeble apologies and excuses sorry are not good enough...

Fixed rear offside door locking mechanism. Took longer than expected as the M8 spline drive bolts were rounded off so had to drill out ! Re Assembled and tested bingo all doors now lock and unlock from the fob result. Followed by a quick wash and vacuum then off for a blast as that thing called the sun came out today.
