  • Popped to the garage at lunchtime to swap coolant temp sensor. I don't think it's the problem but it can't hurt. Going to swap O2 sensor later for the spare I have. Went well, all sorted in 5 mins. T

Empty the boot, change the wheels, put back the false floor......

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Fitted new rear shocks as one was cream crackered :)

Moved it out the way so I could go for a thrash in the 106 Rallye :smirk: . Oh, and moved it back on the drive when I got home. :giggle:

Filled my boot with rubbish for the TIP, more than once, now it needs cleaning out. It would have been so much easier with a van

Decided I needed more room in the boot so moved a few things around and ended with this!

looks very similar the my effort :)

Fitted my Grayston GE14 Spring Assisters to the rear of the car to help keeping it higher when towing

Fitted Prior to wheel on and lowing onto wheel

Wheel on and back on the ground

It only took approx 25mins for both sides & were very easy to fit. Will know a little more on ride quality after a run out in the car tomorrow so will update my blog then for those interested in them.

Whilst moving the car the blown bulb light came on :( . NS Headlight bulb blown, so replaced both H7 bulbs for my spares as when I bought them from Powerbulbs they were Powerbulbs own 50% brighter & buy1 get 1free + philips sidelight bulbs, they havent done bad, they've lasted 2years (20k) and I drive with them on all the time (even in daylight)

buggered up my O/S rear window winder mechanism whilst trying to get the door to open. It's been locked shut for almost 18 months now and I've NO idea how to sort it  Cut some wood up to hold the window in place as a temp bodge job!

Sent from my computer using a keyboard like normal people

Signed to send it off to the bodyshop for repair to rear door :wall:

Oh and have an Audi A6 saloon to drive in it's place for 2 days

Had a bit of a panic on yesterday when the battery decided to die on me 15 miles away from home and the car wouldn't tick over. After walking to halfords and spending more than I would have wanted on a jump starter I managed to get her home.

Picked up a new battery this morning and replaced it, all is running sweetly now :)

Whilst doing the change however i found that the tailgate "vRS" badge has fallen off :( This was no great suprise tbh as it was only reattached after a respray about 6 months ago, using cheap double sided adhesive tape. The unusually warm weather seems to have caused the adhesive tape to have dried out, looks like I'm going to have to buy a new one from TPS

In the meantime, the edge around where the adhesive has been gives me a perfect excuse to was the car this afty :)

Today I.... acquired some bits & bobs :)

Mk1 got serviced, rear disks & pads

( vRS exhaust got put on yesterday )

Have you had any issues fitting a petrol exhaust onto a TDi?

I have been told that there would be too much back pressure resulting in a drop in power (if the car will run at all) :wonder:

Not at all. I had to cut my backbox off as there ain't a join like the Vrs backbox.

It's basically axel back I've got & I've certainly not noticed any differance.

Modified the grab handles so they don't slap back onto the roof lining

Nice mod. Did you alter the originals, or put different ones in?

Replaced all lower grilles, last week though

Not directly done to the car, but I bought:

Chemical guys stripper scent

Chemical guys inner clean

Chemical guys Sprayable Leather cleaner

Inside is getting abit of TLC ;-)

Took it to pant waen skoda for the coil pack recall starts and sounds alot better now.

Scored a result with a high street chain over some wax which was on offer but only partially supplied, and will be applying it this weekend weather permitting. Rhymes partially with "bored"..

fitted an engine mount, feels much better now.

Replaced spare wheel (Some idiot screwed the exhaust heat shield on from underneath with XL screws which punctured the spare). :wall:

Secured rear exhaust heat shield (Properly).

Filled her up with diesel (£56) :'(

Checked the oil level after the Exhaust light coming on only to find that the local skoda dealer has over filled the engine oil by some way. Brilliant.

The oil doesn't smell of diesel does it?? If it does they haven't fitted the new injectors right and it's dumping diesel into the oil, they'll need to sort the injectors and change the oil.

Telfords by any chance?
