Fabia RS official photos and info

Featured Replies

The more I see of it now, the more I want it... :(

Ditto............I think it was a very clever ploy by Skoda to advertise using poor quality colour photos of the vRS and combo's, just prior to the Geneva show.

I admit I looked at those initial photos and thought "euuurgh" but as soon as the real thing came through, I've been hooked.

I hated the fabia 1 but the facelift has been cleverly done. You juts wait and see, the new vRS is going to take off big time!

I think I've changed my mind about my chosen colour scheme so many times already ,but I think black magic metallic with silver roof I'm definitely swaying towards!

I've been looking at the specs and see that it comes with halogen projector lamps. I got xenon factory fitted headlights when I got my Fabia VRS about 4 years ago so is the halogen a backwards step? They don't mention upgrades to xenon.

Xenon not available but they have improved the Fabia's headlights with the facelift as they had poor feedback on the quality of the pre-facelift lights.

The vRS is on 205/40 17s (please correct me if I'm wrong). If these are smaller than the Ibiza/Polo; what are these on then? I can't believe they'd use 18s.

I think maybe it was the tires that are slightly wider and lower profile on the SEAT and VW. Was in last weeks Autocar and that's gone to salvage now but did say the Ibiza and Polo had this and a wider front track: will check.

Edit: 215/40 on 17" for the Ibiza Cupra!

To some extent Babs you are rght but I'm actually pleased this will be on smaller wheels/tires to the Ibiza and Polo. Yes with big tires youy get loads of grip but sometims you get too much and it's less fun inho. May be a perverse thing buI loved my old Peugeot 106: only had a 1.1 but could dance wen you wanted it too and had loads of feel.To that extent it was much more of a drivers car than my VRS.

Problem is, it's on an older chassis, that's also narrower!

Yeah but by how much?

Dunno?

Its not just about platforms and tyres etc, a lot is about driving talent  I could get our old Felicia Cube Van round corners better than a lot of drivers could get their slammed boyracer cars round them :giggle:

Well yes, but the same driver could drive the Ibiza & Polo faster over the same roads than a Fabia!

Going back to tyres. I have just looked at MyTyres and you can''t get the new Goodyears or Vred Sessantas in 205 width (205/40 17). You can only buy GSD3s and the older Vred Sportrac 2s. You can only buy Sessantas in 215 width (215/40 17). Lets just hope that once you buy a Fabia and need new tyres for it, you can buy what you want in the right size.

Another video of the new vRS in action.....

Pick it up around 1.08 mins........Can anyone tell me what gear has been chosen at 1.16?

Also, at 1.26 ( I am presuming this is Sport mode? ).......watch the revs reach 6000rpm, but watch it fly!!

I think this car is going to be a shed load of fun ,don't think we're going miss the diesel at all!

Am I seeing the gear indicator top right along side the time in 'N' - neutral?

Looks quick - as well it should be!

Needs much more lower, it just didn't look sporty to me.

And why's he changing gears with the stick, what's happened to the paddles?!

It doesn't look as sporty as the S2000 but thank god it doesn't, I don't want a car with wide hips or a fat backside

I think the car looks just right and like the idea of 'wolf in sheep's clothing', as with the Mk1 vRS ;)

Well spotted Re: the paddles....I shouldn't worry about those, I'd be very very surprised if these aren't included in the price ,afterall,if we're going to have to pay more than £17k, which it will be after accessorising it, they are an absolute must!

I'm expecting the wheels to be included too...............ok, maybe I can dream on about those :|

Quote here from post #53 by Octavia T81 - "The Onyx-coloured dashboard is equipped with a three-spoke leather steering wheel with an optional multi-function version with gear change paddles for manual control of the standard seven-speed automatic DSG gearbox. "

Assuming OctaviaT81 is correct, I'll be honest I WON'T be happy to pay extra for these!

So you won't be getting paddles then?

If you buy an Octavia with DSG; paddles are only available as an option with MFD button steering wheel. Can't see that Skoda would do things differently for the Fabia vRS.

It's the whole point of having that box in a "sporty" car, ffs!

In your opinion yes, but I'll reserve judgment on that until I have tried them myself on a test drive! B)

Can't believe £17k and Fabia Vrs mk2 are being mentioned in the same thread.

Why? do you not think the price will be lower than £17k? :o

I think that spec will depend on country as with other models so the padles may be included as standard, £17k sounds like a lot but if you could get a discount of £1k then for the performance its not really that expensive. You can pay that for a mid spec polo, fiesta, clio etc.

scary i paid 16K for my octavia vrs Le tsi, but this was with the vat taken off

Erm... no.

Polo GTI will be about £18k, Ibiza Cupra is £16k!

The RS Clio is about £16k-ish as well!

Absolutely retarded if they try and sell it for £17k

Just had a look at the Clio and the cheapest renault sport 200 cup is £16.5K without air con or £17.5K with, both three door. Ibiza is approaching £17K so cant imagine they would price the Fabia more. Got a feeling the the Polo will be getting on for 19k lol given a 1.2 tsi with dsg is close to 16k without options.

Maybe they will suprise us and the Fabia will be £15K list.
