100k Club!

153k on a 51plate 110tdi, has been running great until yesterday when has started to develop the sporadic lack of turbo boost issue that seems not uncommon? Maf sensor apparently?

03 Vrs estate 140k - still going strong

Just passed the 150k on mine, still sweet as a nut. Oh, and ive found the cure for all this limp home nonsense, drive the ****** to Scotland and back!

Coming up to 107k on an 05 plate vRS. And I've spent loads on it recently (soon after buying it) but mainly because I'm a perfectionist. So far I've replaced all shocks (front ones from dealer were very ouch when coming to pay!), exhaust with a milltek (centre mount had been cut off on oem exhaust) and centre bushes for exhaust, two wheel bearings (one had gone but I changed the one that hadn't gone first, always the way), new wishbone bushes on both sides, 4 coil packs, new plugs oil and filters, Forge 007 recirc valve. It could do with a new seatbase as the drivers one has a bit of play in it and I'm about to replace droplinks, arb bushes and radiator bushes to try and clear a phantom knock it's developed. Would quite like to bung new springs on it too as I think the original ones are a bit tired but I dread to think what they'd cost from a dealer. Oh and the brakes are warped and wearing very oddly (very outer edge on the inside face is wearing faster than the rest of the disc) so that's another £90 for discs and £35 for pads when I get round to it!

Oh, and clutch and flywheel.

or sticky vanes in the turbo, or possible n75.

Not me, I'm on 212k on the one. Oh the other has 105k, I suppose that counts.

Mine will be passing this mile stone tomorrow.emoticon-0106-crying.gif

99952 at the moment on a 52 plate.

Who else is in the club.

I've still got 29040 miles to go before I joint the100k club on my 2001 Octy vRS.

My old BMW E30 318iS (just sold) had 199K on it and was dynoed at 148bhp at the flywheel, 2bhp less than when it left Munich in 1990...It only ever had servicing, no mods.

Oooh! How much of a difference did replacing the shocks make and how much were they? My 52 vRS has done over 140k and I love her, but I'm sure the shocks could do with replacing.

It's definitely a bit more controlled but didn't make as much difference as I'd hoped for. Didn't change the springs at the same time though so that probably didn't help as they're probably getting a bit tired now. It probably doesn't help that my daily driver is a Fabia vRS on Weitec coilovers with a Jabba ARB so a stock Octy is going to feel a bit wallowy!

Front shocks were direct from the dealer so they were something silly like £140 each IIRC. Rears were from GSF and were about £40.

Damn. Yet again, I have to consider the possibility that FSDs are the only thing that will make me truly happy and I can't afford it :'(

I agree - your daily isn't helping!

My car is sweet as a nut for 140k+ but I would like to sort a few niggly things.

it is good, but the weird thing is about the father in laws car, he doesnt bother servicing any of them, and runs them basically until they die, so know it aint gonna last much longer, hes had the car since november and done 5000 miles so far, so cant see a car with that much mileage, not likely to be serviced anytime soon running much longer can you?. Noticed a little blue smoke coming out the exhaust lately on it when i was behind it the other day, also i know the service indicator comes up when he turns the ignition on. some people really dont deserve nice cars do they, cos the car itself is a lovely car.

my 52 plate mk1 ocy vrs has just passed 140k superchipped from new.

bought it when it was just shy of 3 years old on 106k

Up to 105k on original clutch and exhaust. Never had (touch wood!) a car where all the "bits" have lasted so long. Here's for another 100k.......! :)

Please can you "pencil in" my 53 plate Octy vRS for membership to the 100K club

Taking into account its current age, mileage and annual mileage..... it should qualify for full membership in 26 years time :)

Just remember to post back in 26 years time then.... In 26 years time, mine could be somewhere around 944000 mile mark.....

mines still on the original clutch!!!

As far as I know from the service history mine is also on the original clutch - but the latest service suggested the vibrations through the clutch mean the DMF is on its way out.

Mine has been done every 10k miles from new so am hoping it keeps going for a few more years yet (still paying off the loan for another three).
