vRS hate

Featured Replies

Evenin' all.

A lot of people seem to hate the Fabia vRS, or is it just me?

What I mean is that some people really seem to resent the little car :(

A few examples of what I mean:

Driving back from Banbury on Sunday - overtook a VW Passat estate on a big long straight (driver put her foot down but w/e - got blown away anyway.. :giggle: )

A little while after the straight is a 30 limit village so I eased off to abide to the law (didn't even have to brake as I entered the village) - the women in the Passat was a few car lengths behind and contently blowing her horn  - she then turned off about 50 yards into the village. But why was she so angry? I in no way inconvenienced her or "cut her up" - was it really the fact that she got overtaken by a Skoda? Can people be that shallow? Maybe she just doesn't like red ones :'(

Later of on the same journey I have a briskish run in with a BMW 330d - we were in no way racing (at least I wasn't :giggle: ), just getting along at a good pace. Anyway, we come to a corner with a longish straight after (know the road well) and I picked up some speed in the corner in an attempt to make a safe overtake on the BMW (indicated and all(!)) but the driver was having none of it... he actually SWERVED out (into the right hand lane) and blocked my path! I mean really WTF?! talk about dangerous/bad driving... Didn't bother trying again - too dangerous with an ass like that.

There was one other time when I over took a white BMW (318 I think) as I could see there were no other cars in front of him ( I generally only overtake if there is a clear run ahead - don't see the point if there is 2-3 cars in front..) Well I eventauly catch up the (slow moving) traffic ahead and see Mr BMW coming fast up behind me - he then over takes me and cuts back in front of me and behind the car I was following... what is the point? :dull:

Are these people trying to prove something? Funny I never got this kind of agro when I had my 2.0l had that for 4 years and only had the vRS for a week! - maybe it just blended in a bit more then a bright red vRS with 17" wheels :) :p

Some people are just tits I guess

Any of you guys ever get any bad reaction from drivers out of the blue like that?

i undertrook a maserati coming off a 3 lane roundabout onto a dual carrageway once, i was in one of those moods and couldnt help it, had to show him some diesel power  as you can expect he rose to the challenge and dropped it a couple! it was friendly though he lives a couple of villages down from me, was rather funny!

but i agree nobody seems to like being overtaken by a skoda, coming off the same roundabout i had a slaphead in his mk5 golf gti drop it a gear when he saw me coming alongside him, i was proud of how well the fab kept up. he pulled away but very slowly untill i stopped accelerating.

im not an aggressive driver honest. we just all like a rag now and again!

No I'm from Chinnor - but I often visit Banbury :)

Oh, quite near me actually. Never head that way though.

i just had a ford focus up my arse, it screamed past me cut me up so i flashed it at which point it slammed on the brakes and came to a stop.

then carried on again....

I have the registration though, il be keeping it in mind for the future!

Had something In france last week, This 17 year ***** in a rusty saxo about a metre away from my bumper decides to over take me a I go to overtake a tractor (indicated and everything). So I blast past him when we clear the tactor ,Minute later he flys past me and slams his his ****ty brakes on and nose dives the car to a stop, as I casually come to a stop.

After a minute he's still in his car staring at me in his mirror, so I get out walk up to his window and knock on it. He winds it down starts shouting all this french at me while I stand the calmly calling his a french surrender monkey and how he wants to make love to cheese lol,

He then opens his door on me before atempting to wheel spin off, so I gladly put a size 11 steel toe cap boot into his rear 1/4 panel :)

haha, i love skoda rage...

if you are one of those lucky few that's seen the outstanding :giggle: quality of the bodywork on my pickup you'd understand why people get skoda rage, when you come up quick behind somebody you can see them narrowing thier eyes at you in the mirror with a kind of 'you aint going round me' look, what makes it even worse in my case, is that is isn't just a skoda, but when you get roughly side by side with them they suddenly realise it's also a pickup truck... it's like the ultimate insult!! alas i have a unique way of dealing with lane swervers and sudden brakers, i just carry on like they don't exist, besides there's not one single panel on my pick that isn't bent, buckled, rusted to ****, or ruined anyway so i dont care what i hit with it... they normally bottle it in the end with that "this geezer is ****ing mental" look on thier face..

and yes, it is quicker than a fabia vrs

I know i've not a Fabia VRS, but i tend to find that alot of people love to hound the rear end of the car.

Or pull out on me from junctions, they dont tend to like it when they get the full beam though. Bearing in mind i usually run with the headlights on anyway for this reason!

^^ haha, if i was full beamed i'd slam my brakes on :wonder:

I feel the common denominator here isn’t the Fabia

Get over it guys, you have Fabias. the rest of the world doesn't care it's a Skoda, they may well think its a VW or Toyota. it's all in your minds (or rather it's your mind set)

Its not in the mind i tell ya, when i am in the golf i find people don't hug my rear bumper or speed up when i'm overtaking them, its like men want to be me and woman want to be with me!!!!!! And everyone loves the swift too i allways get let in at junctions ect in the little swift

I'd say Lady Elanor is about right TBH.............

+1

Debadge the rear, leave the Skoda roundel and see what happens. I've never had more or less trouble with my Fabias than any other car I've had though.

ive had hell of alot more trouble in my fabia than i did in my clio 172.

maybe theres just alot of tits about?

pity i dont seem to get any:( lol

andrew

i think the above nailed it........its all about breasts!!! u have them, u dont get much trouble. sorted  lol
