Yeah Lambo category more/less, I love rs4. Have to be an m3 though i'm afraid.

Lets face it, do the others come near/close to what the Bugatti Veyron represents in pushing technology / automotive engineering? Nope, and thats why it is the ultimate, even if its not faster around the TG track :D

Have to agree, as a sheer exercise in engineering it will probably never be beaten. But my hart says I'd want a Lambo

Its so true, but in the real world I dont think even a Veyron would be as good as a R8 or Continental day to day. :wonder: All opinions welcome though thanks for takin part!

Voted for the Veyron what with the title using the word "ultimate" ... but in the real World, on real roads, with cat's eyes and manhole covers, leaves, odd cambers, pot holes, gravel, perished tarmac, oil spills etc etc etc I seriously doubt you'd get anything faster than an Impreza or Evo X. I've never had one, never will and don't particularly like them but love 'em or loathe 'em they are an awesome road machine. Can't think of any other factory stock car that matches them for real World performance really.

Three of those cars were designed by current or former Skoda designers :)

I assume thath this is a poll for current models as the mk 1 Golf appears to be missing

The car that created the hot hatch has to be the ultimate!

I agre with allclownsareevil, the evo's and scooby's are ultimate. Nothing can keep up with the locals in them over the mountain! You know the Black mountain where Top Gear n Fith Gear come. I think another animal in the right hands could be the new Nissan GTR. I bet thats bloody good. Or even an R32, my mates mk4 was incredibly scary round backroads. The understeer got the better of him one day and plowed into a tree. Oh dear :giggle:

Meh, that makes it the original but not the ultimate. It's not even strictly the original, the Opel Chevette HS came out earlier .... think the Talbot Subeam Lotus did too to be fair.

I'd forgotten about the Skylines fella. Drove a friends brand new one some years ago, but only tootled it around for a few miles, never opened the taps. Supposed to be very well behaved when driven near it's limits. Mmmmm now that would be a good shootout, an Evo X against a GTR on some real twisty mountain roads.

Yeah wow what a shoot out. My sis's fiancee has a new GTR. Lucky ******! (He is a dentist though.) I can't wait to go for a ride in that. Back to the mk1 golf I do love them very much. If I had the moeny I would love a new r32. I love golf's, infact the only reason why I got a fabia is cos its the most decent closest thing I can afford to a golf lol. "If you listen closeley, it sounds just like a golf" Good argument though about the opel rear wheel drive thing and the lotus ahem Talbot sunbeam

Having been lucky enough to get a passenger ride in one... I'd say a Veyron... simply EPIC.

on 'real' roads.. twisty B roads with cats eyes, pot holes, oncoming traffic, gravel, etc.... it was SERIOUSLY quick.... brutally quick.... and stopped just as well...

Properly impressive car... and not just for the headlines... coped as well on the B and lesser roads, as it did on the A roads.... wouldn't fancy the bills that come with it, which wouldn't be helped by our wonderous road network... but still... if I had one, I'm sure the running costs would be ok! haha!

I'd argue with you ... if only I had been in one. Seen one in the flesh, and the interior but never went out in it. Surprised to hear you say it coped well with real roads. Figured it'd be a bit twitchy and cumbersome ... you know, geared for more high-end speeds. Owning one has to be a mixed blessing. Nightmare running costs and constant threat of theft. It's the kind of car they'd not think twice about doing you serious harm in order to take it from your house.

Not too surprised nobody voted for the Superb.

I politely enquired to the owner about running costs.... £4k per corner for tyres :o and he wouldn't divulge the MPG! :D

Well if your even thinking about running cost on cars like those then your missing the point already. Its not about that is it? When your that rich its the last thing you care about, you just want it!

P.s - somebody av a go at those ungreatful fabia 2 lot lol! :giggle:

Not too surprised nobody voted for the Superb.

I would if it was down to practicality or favourite from those in the selection, but as its 'ultimate', its got to be the vile veyron

As has been stated its an 'ultimate' engineering marvel, I just dont like it, damn ugly. :p

I'm suprised the phaeton has done so well. I voted for the conti cos I love bentleys and vag so its perfect. Some people I'm sure believe the superb is the ultimate for them.

I forgot to reply about the mk1 request. Thats gona have to come under the Vw phaeton category I guess if you want to vote for that? Reason being thats the ultimate vw in my view of course.

It depends on what you define as Ultimate.

For Ultimate Luxuary, then the Bentley Continental wins.

If it's Ultimate Hot Hatch, then the Golf MK1 or Mk2 GTI wins, some may say the Mk4 or even the current one.

Of course the Ultimate Supercar must be the Veyron.

Now would you say the Ultimate VAG 4x4 is the Toe-rag V10 TDI? Would this also be the ultimate VAG Diesel or would that be the short lived R8 TDI (same engine)

No none of the above the phaeton is the ultimate volkswagen. Thats why it features in the volkswagen section but overall it represents every vw. Not vw group

Like the veyron is there cos thats the ultimate bugatti.

That must have been last year seeing as the MK6 Golf and the Facelift Octavia have been out for a year or more...

Have any of the VAG cars above got a five year warranty ? :giggle:
