Right - Here is a quick update. I fitted this kit

http://www.cars-equipment.com/www/en/shop/park-pilotpla-park-assistentops-sets-parts/oem-front-ops-for-skoda-octavia/

Connecting it up was fairly simple as I already had rear OPS on a 2012 FL and I had read the other guides. So here are a few pointers

1. Change module.

2. Insert front wiring into module. There are 2 wires that go into one of the other plugs. These are well marked on the plug and are on the loom.

3. The rest of the loom is multi plugs that you can't get wrong apart from 2 wires.

4. Brown wire - this goes to a suitable earth.

5. Grey wire (illumination) - this gets connected to the grey / blue stripe wire on one of the other switches.

Then code the module with VCDS. My module came uncoded. VCDS was not very helpful in coding the module.

I looked around and found someone elses coding and used that and it worked.

Yes that is in the picture. I mean the left hand side of the wiring diagram further down the page...

THANK YOU! It's this:

Today I test it, I hope it is correct ...

I bought the kit to retrofit sensors front for Octavia and have them shipped to me the wires of the button with the different pins!
And they also sent PDC control for Skoda Octavia with code 56D 919 475

I will have problems?

The switch the mk2 Octavia uses is part number 1Z0919281B. The 3t0 part is from the Superb and maybe wired differently.

The correct module is part number 5k0 919 475e I think?

I have the switch 3TD 919 281 there are the pinouts ?

I can wired as the previous image?
I to short circuit something?

Thanks

I don't know if it's the same pin outs for the 3t0 switch sorry. Might be worth asking in the superb section?

IT'S ALL OK !!
I tested the button for superb at my risk with the scheme pins connections.
Fortunately everything went well! Thank you!

interesting reading this and has lead me all over the place with mis information.

i have bought the kit to add front ops to my existing rear factory ops.

firstly it does need coding despite what anyone tells you and a lengthy search i found the park assist controller needs coding 10001 for the front and rear ops on the screen and 30008 if you have a back up camera and you want it to go auto to that screen with ops down the left hand side.

secondly if you have rear ops from the factory you will unplug the front wiring loom from the controller and it will be left there as you need a new loom for the front/rear 8k module.

you can cut the wires in this plug and tap into can high and low here which makes the job 10,000 time easier.

i hope this helps anyone in the future.

Hi guys, sending a greetings from Czech Republic.

It is like 1 month I bought Octavia II Facelift, year 2012 equipped by rear parking sensors and radio Bolero. Now I would like to buy parts from destroyed Octavias available on market. It is because the cost is almost 50% lower than completion kit available from new market offers. It is not a problem to get all needed parts however I would like to know the list for what I should be looking for.

I expect:

- front sensors

- front cables

- button in the interior? (for what purpose?)

What else? Is it only about adding parts or should I replaces something as well? If yes, where are parts for exchange located and which numbers should I look for? As the first thing I will check the number of the unit located behind left hand rear wheel.

Many thanks in advance. In Czech we have a lot of knowledgable people however they are selfish and not willing to support others without money.

OK, my unit has number 5J0 919 475 A. Not sure whether it needs replacement or not. From all your comments it looks like YES.

From memory, A and B suffix is front only, C is front and rear.

If it has 4k written on it it's rear only

If it has 8k it's for front and rear.

A is rear only I've just removed same module when upgrading

Hello.

All good now. 360 OPS works, but it will turn on automatically when an obstacle is detected on either side of the car, otherwise it will display only 8 sensors.

Hi all,

looking for some help ,

I’m wanting to fit front ops pdc kit to my 2012 Octavia. It has rear pdc but I’d like to know where the best place to get a kit including wires and I don’t have access to vcds so would be looking for someone to code it in (Oxfordshire willing to pay)

ive seen this kits but unsure as don’t want cause any faults or issues

also with the wiring side of things I’m normally one for following instructions closely, just don’t want to make a big error.

Big Nick, to add the fronts to your existing OPS, you will only have to add the front sensors, speaker and parktronic switch as shown below.

Hi,

I know it's been ten years already. I about to retrofit front parking sensors to my Skoda Octavia mk2 FL and I wonder if you can walk me through the wiring procedures as I dunno what wiring is required. I got the 8K control, front bumper with 4X sensors installed, parking button and connectors.

Thanks!

Osama

If you already have rear sensors then it involves some wire swapping.

Can you please add some details on what wire swapping do I need when I retrofit only front sensors to a car already has the rear sensors.

Thanks!

Good evening thought I’d share my latest triumph. I’ve now wired in and coded my OPS retrofit. I will write a how-to guide once it’s fully finished. I’ve yet to drill the bumper as I wanted to ensure I could get the complete system working before any holes are drilled into the front and rear bumper.

I regretted not going for the rear parking sensors after picking my car up, as it’s not the best visibility out the back. I also liked the display the factory OPS gives you on the Columbus, so decided I would retrofit the OPS and the Park Assist (Self Parking) from the VW Golf. I will do a write up for the Park assist once I have it working next week.

This is the first time i've used VCDS and it is a very good tool, very pleased I brought it.

Finally found the CAN Gateway. This is on the driver side on the FL not behind the glovebox as I believe it may be on other models/years.

I wonder where to mount the speaker for front sensors?
