Uprated CLUTCH - Definitive answer.

Featured Replies

Just so we have a definitive answer on this.

Anyone with a 6 speed box, can we uprate our clutches, since most remapped cars have clutch slippage near the 300 lb/ft mark, I don't want an answer like "drive slower" or "just take it easy on the gearbox" and "dont use too much throttle", we need answers so that we can melt our tyres after 1,000 miles :D

Annoying really, you'd think they would have an uprated one since loads of VAG cars have 6 speed boxes (Audi TT, Golf R32, Audi A4, Fabia vRS).

Thanks!

Sachs have one.. but its not in general production yet... its based on the Golf TDI racers.

middle of 2005 :)

This post got me excited then, I thought there was a deffinate answer :(

Still middle of 2005 should be perfect timing for me :)

Audi TT, Audi S3 etc do all have six speed boxes yes, but even a really well tuned 1.8t will be struggling to get anywhere near the torque that we are getting when mapped up so the petrol ones are no good.

Audi A4 is completely different even in 1.8T as its not a tranverse engine.

But im going steady and waiting for the Sachs unit that Colin has mentioned.

Sachs unit will be capable of? and how much will it affect gear changes?

According to the specs given to us its good for upto 370 lbft.

No idea on what the pedal will be like until we get one, but being hydraulic operation and a mildly modded pressure plate it should be OK.

But if your worried about what the missus thinks should you be doing it anyhow? If she cant handle a heavier clutch will she be able to keep it in a straight line?

Ummm :)

Ummm, she cant really drive anyway so who cares :)

I think you should take a good look at yourself actually, as your 'missus' is not the one with 3 points on her licence and who has had 2 accidents in less than as many years. They say practice makes perfect, and I certainly get a lot more practice than you, a$!hole! if you want me not to find out about your little 'goings on' then I suggest you use ytour head for once and don't post derogatory comments on here about me!

Is that with bullet proof lining with extra sound deadening material p'raps

And what about some excellent above average quality damped Golf Gti 'uprated' grab handles for you to 'clutch' at p'raps while she's trying to rip the door off it's hinges.

We currently have two sizes in stock for immediate delivery...with the wifes permission of course....MAN size or mouse?

I'll tick you down for one of the latter then yes?

A cupboard to put your trousers in then p'raps? Ah no...I forgot...that would only be required for when Mrs Hellfire is staying over :P

So is there a "menage a trois" going on here, or just someone trying to hide his original identity?

Suspect he's simply just trying to hide Andy!!
