Another full-page ad in the Emergency Services Times, for the Group this time, but the Yeti's at the top! Is this like your local one, Graham?:

Lost count at around 10 today. Mind you the rain was pretty heavy so there was a lot of spray around so there could well have been more.

I can go for days without seeing a single Yeti but today I hit the jackpot, seven of the little blighters on my drive from Enfield to Great Yarmouth. Six of the seven were white and yes, they were all different cars. From the top:

A11 Elveden Forest (eastbound) - White, Greenline

A47 Norwich to Great Yarmouth (eastbound) - White, Greenline

Breydon Bridge (northbound), Great Yarmouth - White, Greenline

Anybody from here?

I think any of those could have been me! I did get (and return) a wave from another white Yeti which was travelling south over Breydon Bridge as I was going north :)

If it's any help the A11 Elveden Yeti was at least two up, a man driving and a woman in the front passenger seat. Aged anything between 30-50.

The one over the Breydon bridge was just one up - a man wearing glasses. He was aged anything between 20-40, darkish and possibly slightly curly hair. It's to get an exact description when it was (i) three weeks ago and (ii) has an approach speed of 80-odd mph! It certainly wasn't me doing the waving as I was in a blue Roomster at the time.

When I had a Lada Niva I used to flash (and be flashed) by other Nivas on a pretty regular basis. Guess I'm going to have get back in the habit of doing so :giggle:

This afternoon (4pm) a very nice shiney red Yeti pulled up behind me at the Bracknell Leisure centre roundabout, I tried to wave to the driver, not easy when they are behind you, but as normal no response.

Esilver Yeti, eastbound over the Westgate bridge this morning at about 7:45, couldn't catch you to say hi.

Maybe tomorrow :-)

We are on holiday on Crete. Went to Rethymnon to pick up hire car (nice red VW Polo) and we walked round the town all afternoon till returning to our holiday location (Plakias on South Crete). Spotted many Yetis in Rethymnon. Have also seen one in the small village of Plakias where we stay.

The hire car firm who we know very well indeed said they would like to use Skodas - including the Yeti - but said the local Skoda agent was very nice but not quick enough on the uptake when a broken down car needed rescuing. The hire car firm uses new cars under warranty so that the vehicle supplier is responsible for sorting out any incidents. I have certainly seen more Yetis on Crete on the four days we have been here than on any four days I have been travelling in the UK. One at least was a hire car.

I spotted two today in the Elan valley YOU know who you were too :giggle:

Just had a wander up through town for a coffee (wife's away) and there was a white Urban (??) parked outside the cafe, reg number V? EBO.

Just walked the dog round the block and saw not one, but two Yeti's within 500m's of house, a white 1.2Urban, and the red one that i see around a lot, that count didn't include the other one that seems to live nearby. It seems a year after casper arrived Yeti's seem to have caught on in Broadstairs

Think I saw Johann in Windermere last Friday, he was towing a trailer & I was too busy trying to remember where I recognized the number plate from to wave. Sorry!

Could be. I know he was heading up that way.

Heading into Oakham this morning, I saw an Aqua Blue Yeti in the opposite direction at Burley. I gave a flash, was it anyone here?

Not a sign of another Yeti for weeks then a bronze Yeti FP60*** ( think) today at 14.15 in Uppingham.

Muski 4x4 Elegance GU10xxx in Tesco's, Amersham, this afternoon. Brighton plate - visitor, or new home?

I was in Penge a couple of days ago, waiting to turn right and there was a light blue ish SE waiting to turn into the road I was waiting to emerge from. It was quite funny because he looked across to see if it was safe and did a double take

Passed another Musky 4x4 on a backroad on the way to work this morning - no reaction to a wave. I'm beginning to think the colour is invisible to most, or at least it blends in with all the mud around in the fields, and following the deluge, on the roads too.

I spotted a wounded Yeti on a transporter near Huddersfield on the M62 today, it was red and reg was MT11***, it was being taken in the direction of Manchester.

Just seen a Musci one towing a caravan in the centre of Llani.

Hopefully it'll be a quick visit to the vet for the injured soul, I know from experience that they feel uneasy even driving past the 'home' dealer :giggle:

Just back from 10 days in North Wales - plenty of Yetis in evidence there - they must like playing in the mountains ! Got a cheery wave from a Muscky Yeti on the A4212 north of Bala about a week back, saw a pale blue Yeti (PE59 ***) in the car park at Croesor last weekend, a white local 11 plate Yeti at Shell Island last Sunday, and a 12 plate white Yeti parked on the A5 near Llangollen on our way home yesterday - amongst others. I think somebody posted here a few weeks back that Yetis were rare in Wales - certainly not in the North !

Pete

Just been thru wales Over the last few days, from shropshire to Snowdonia, and down to the Brecon's via Aberystwyth and cutting across from Tredgaron past Llyn Brianne to Llandovery on an amazing road, now in Gloucester, loads more Yeti's in Wales in comparison to Kent, had a few waves as I've come across others.

Dark blue one spotted yesterday pm in Aberfoyle and got a cheery wave from a musky also in Aberfoyle this morning.

Sunny in the trossachs for a change :)

  • 2 weeks later...

I've seen quite a few over the last few days. My first bronze SM in Leeds on Friday morning (A61/A58 Claypit Lane junction). On Sunday morning there was a white 1.2 (or a greenline) in Wetherby, then ended up a few cars behind another Musky on the way to Harrogate, and passed an Aqua Blue coming Wetherby direction. On the way home I followed another 170 Musky (11 plate with Annapurnas) out of Harrogate up to the Follifoot turning. Then this morning I was behind a black 2WD TDI 11 plate going into Knaresborough. It'll probably be a few weeks until I see another.
