Yeti spotting - result!

Featured Replies

Saw one towing a caravan on Sat morning, up the hill from junction 2 M42, heading south towards the M5. And followed / overtook a silver petrol Yeti on the A roads between Droitwich and Ombersley (Worcs).

I keep seeing a dark blue one driving around Leamington Spa too, but can't wave as I'm usually on foot at the time, and would be considered to be more weird than usual...

I have seen loads recently, one or two at least on each long trip I have done recently.

Saddest though was a silver one on a trailer on the M1 in Nottingham, completely smashed to the o/s front corner, and wheeel hanging off. Looked like it was on its way to be rebuilt somewhere, before resale, after purchase at one of the near write off auctions.

Saw a amazon green S model parked up at the HAD WGC open day this morning.

I was too busy eating beef in chianti sauce and then lemon ice cream to go looking for its owner

Saw one on my drive today, still looks great.

In Brecon, twice - a muscovado 59plate with Skoda roof rack rails, and a wee trailor -at about 5 pm.

Spotted this evening my first Yeti with 'L' plates; black Urban heading towards Hull.

Just back from France, saw another British Yeti in Cahors on 9th August, steel grey I think with a roof box reg no Y*ETY. Anyone on here?

Done 2,500 miles in last 2 weeks, cruises nicely at 80 on the French motorways and has returned around 40 mpg. Managed to get all the luggage for a family of four for 2 weeks into the boot without needing a roofbox too!

Not spotted many round my way bar the on call doctors one but saw a 10 plate in muscovado parked apart round the Hertford area on Sunday.

I was on my home from Wales yesterday at about 5pmish north of the Brecon Beacon area and exchanged a wave with a red Yeti. I can't remember the village name, let alpine how to pronounce it.

Must be Yeti day in Llani today;

Mine (obviously)

Another Musci one, who lives locally

A white one with a personalised plate (V8 ***)

A red one by the coffee shop

We have just come back from a week touring Scotland, we stayed a bit too far south this year down near Glen Eagles, this didn't stop us getting out and about though, on our travels we saw lots of Yeti (is there a collective known for Yeti?) Anyway, on the Thursday we left Glen Eagles at 8AM, went up the A9 to Inverness then went West towards Torridon (see picture) Torridon lead to Applecross that then lead to Fort William and on to Glen Coe, Crianlarich and left at Lochearn Head towards Crieff and back to Glen Devon. A massive 14 hours out and about with regular stops, in all 435 miles covered.

Spotting in particular this black Yeti in Torridon, is it yours?

Funny that.. we thought something similar last year.

Foggy at the top and chucking down but the views in the clear bits made up for it.

Same for Glen Coe. Just one of those places where it doesn't matter what the weather's like.

We are off up there again in 5 weeks and can't wait :)

Four in Talbot Green, Three in Cowbridge, and three in Asda Coryton today, South Wales is full of them.

I can go for days without seeing a single Yeti but today I hit the jackpot, seven of the little blighters on my drive from Enfield to Great Yarmouth. Six of the seven were white and yes, they were all different cars. From the top:

McDonalds car park, near Duxford - White, SE

A11 Elveden Forest (eastbound) - White, Greenline

A47 Norwich to Great Yarmouth (eastbound) - White, Greenline

A47 Great Yarmouth to Norwich (westbound) - Muscovado - spec unknown but had personalised plate

Breydon Bridge (northbound), Great Yarmouth - White, Greenline

Corner of Beccles Road and High Street, Gorleston (it lives there) - White, SE

Marine Parade, Great Yarmouth - White, spec unknown

Anybody from here?

They are still somewhat of a rarity down in deepest Dorset.

Drove along the coast today to Beer in Devon and back.

Spotted 3, strangely 2 were from abroad.

A red one from Holland and a silver one from Germany!

We have just booked to go back again for the Christmas week, staying at Blair Atholl this time, I am sure we will get out and about as usual. I am going to buy some of the Michelin snow rope/chain type things for this year, will I just need two or should I get four? as the car is 4x4????

According to the manual, just one pair to the rears.....for standard size wheel/tyres I believe.

The Easy Grip I think you are describing will just about fit on the front without fouling the suspension. I have a pair I bought in case i got stuck in mud this summer!!

Thanks, I will just get the one, if I don't get them I will need them, if I buy them it won't snow!

That'll be sods law at work then ;)

...if I buy them it won't snow!....

That's what happened (or didn't happen) when I invested in a new snow shovel last winter ;)
