Yeti spotting - result!

Featured Replies

I cannot believe all the Yeti's I saw in my local area yesterday, about 5/6 different examples in a 20 min walk, when I first got my yeti just over a year and a half ago, there was only one other yeti in the local area, now all that lot, including one example with a 'go faster' stripe!

A busy day, yesterday. Accosted (a first!) in a local car park by the driver of the adjacent Volvo C60, then by another chap at Tesco's; both of 'mature' years. After a suitable chat, I pointed each of them towards this forum 'for further information'! A parked white SM in town (61 plate) , then a wave from a dark blue or black one on the way home. M'lady spotted another white one in a driveway a mile or so out but of course we don't know whether that's a new resident or a visitor. And within the last week we have found another new white Yeti lair over the other side of the woods.

This time last year (as we were ordering) there was just one Yeti around here that we saw every other week or so. How times change!

Travelled 330 miles today and saw two.

1st in Banstead at around 330am, (silver?) and the 2nd some 6 hours later in South Shields, (light metallic blue, female driver)

Waved but no responses :(

On a positive note ours behaved impeccably, on what was our first 'big' run. Comfy, controlled and economical!

Yeti world around here this evening:

Blue on in the car park of Harry Tuffins in Church Stoke

White one between Onibury and Craven Arms on the A49

Light silver, dark silver and white all at the Ludlow Races this evening

I ordered mine two weeks ago (currently Octavia vRS owner) and low and behold a couple of days later drove into a car park in Birmingham behind one.

Had to go over to the driver and ask him how he found it as i had just ordered one and he couldn't stop praising it, even though as he said himself, he'd always had Range Rovers, and had only had his first Yeti since December '12.

Then saw a red SE model on the M40 heading from Birmingham to London the very next day. Maybe it's just because I've ordered my own first Yeti but I seem to be seeing quite a few of them on the roads around the West Midlands now.

Got a wave from a shiny white Yeti Greenline (DHZ ----) leaving Hollygrove roundabout on the A635, on my way back from the Elsecar meet yesterday afternoon.

I went to Inverness today and passed a red yeti over there.

Also passed a muscovado on Skye this morning, and a white on my way back home this evening.

I keep seeing them everywhere now that I'm looking out for them :hi:

Saw three yetis at different times in work car park today.

A red, a black and a tangerine.

Seems to be common as muck up here now :giggle:

Corrected for you (maybe) :giggle:

I told my workmates that I don't want one now as they're so 'popular'

I was just jesting of course.

Had a chat with the owner of the red yeti, she bought it a year ago and couldn't praise it highly enough

As has been discussed before inhttp://www.briskoda....on#entry2937156 Yetis seem to produce offspring in March and September times that oddly aligns with our reg plate change...

Ok,had to go to my girlfriends family for dinner today, and look at what kind of view i was introduced to... :giggle:

They are becoming so popular here that i've lost one of the original reasons i bought my YETI for (weird looking, new kid on the block thing)

Just on my neighborhood there are 3 (excluding mine).

PS:Sorry for the poor quality,my phone isn't exactly great while it's :rain: -ing :wall:

An apology...

To the driver of the dark blue yeti that went the other way, with a wave, on the bedmond rd, hemel this morning.

We've got so used to no waves that we were too slow out of the blocks.

10 plate 4x4 spotted on M4 at 1.15 this afternoon beween Bridgend and Port Talbot. Friendly waves exchanged - anyone on this forum?

Big shout out to all the Yetis I flashed or waved at in Aviemore this weekend....there were loads!

Two in Helmsley this afternoon. Am becoming impatient!

Make that five by the time I got home: three grey, one silver and a very smart black one driven by a bearded gentleman which stopped at the lights to let me cross.

Just raced past a light blue one on the A34 just outside Coventry in my vRS, loved the colour by the way.

Considering that Skoda do not import into the USA, I very much doubt it!

Speaking to a customer last night who has a place in Retford (Notts) and he took his Yeti up there for a week or so, on the way back got 2 flashes from Yetis.

He did mention that at first he thought something was up with his car but then realised it must be a 'Yeti' thing

Three weeks in Provence and saw three Yetis: a silver, a white and a steel grey. About the best return I have seen on French trips, but the SM is still massively outnumbered by the ubiquitous Dacia Duster.

Slightly off topic as nobody in yetis around my neck of the woods ever waves :(

I was reading about the duster recently and the NCAP crash rating is somewhat mental to me.

It lost a Star because it doesn't have an audible seat belt reminder. I'm not really sure what that has to do with the safety of the car in a crash and it makes me wonder if the entire thing has lost the plot somewhat.

Not a pretty car mind.

No, not pretty but the French - who, as someone has pointed out in another thread somewhere here - are not generally as interested in cars as we Brits (witness the state of most of them!) and so recognise a real bargain when offered one, which I guess the Duster is.

Black one London bound on M23, about 1040? Bit of a late wave from me in an identical one South bound!

A few days ago at about 7:00AM in Swindon just off the Great Western Way I caught up another black SM (I had to hold Jana back as I think it was a male Yeti and Jana may be in heat being a 1 year old), following a quick flash of the lights I had a wave, I think it was a 2wd 110 looking at the badge.
