Order Times, Build Times, Delays, The Skoda Black Hole Ordering System

Featured Replies

If anyone wants to jump the long queue for a Fabia Vrs in Race blue with white roof, sadly I have to sell mine as I have a Yeti arriving next week. (Fabia not good as a towcar!!) Regsitered 23/12/10 with 5k on the clock mostly on motorways. regards John

Sent another e-mail to the Customer Relations Manager at SUK today as I am thoroughly hacked off with the fact that my VRS (ordered 23 Feb) still does not even have a build date and folk that ordered more than a month after me are now seeing theirs delivered.

Let's see what platitudes are presented this time!

Fabia VRS Hatch green with black roof & Cruise

Ordered 13/3/11 was told 19 weeks

No build date yet, will ring next week and post back

*update to the above

ordered 13/3/11 - dealer placed the order in the system 18/3/11 :wonder:

Spoke to dealer May 22nd and they confirmed it is built and in the UK, but couldn't tell me when it will be at the dealership or able to be collected

They where hopeful for this week..a little frustrating, but at least it is here B)

Nice of them to spring it on you like that.... so they've gone from "it's not built" to "its in the UK" overnight?

pretty much thats I have got out of them and I had to ring them to find that out - which I thought was a bit off :wonder:

the only silver lining was I could use the "trackmyskoda" website - but that seems to be 3 or 4 days behind in updating. (it went from unconfirmed build date to transporting to Germany port)

Did manage to get the 3 years free servicing thru PCP after a small discussion.

Salesman thought I wasn't able to have it as I got 20% off, but checked for me after I mentioned that a fair few on here have got the free servicing and the VAT saving, so why can't I? :D

*edit - just had a text from SWMBO - dealer as left a message at home to give them a call!

I just gave my dealership a ring over the free servicing, he said it would only apply to orders in the 2nd quarter of the year, i ordered mine 21/3/11. But he did say he's having a meeting with Skoda finance tomorrow and he's going to bring the issue up. I explained to he that he said the worst case scenario was 3 months when i ordered the car (now its got a provisional build date of wk 27, but this moves more than an Irish traveller) so I wasnt happy with this delay. Hopefully I'll get the servicing as well, the delays wont be a problem then.

Red vRS, totally standard,no extras. Ordered 10th Feb at which time I was told it would be ready in approx 10weeks (week 16 - w/c 18th April). I then had a call to say it had been put back to build week 19.

I have just called to check that the car has been built and received the following disappointing reply:

'The car is one of a number of vehicles which have had their production week put back (ALL May production Fabia vRS) to post-week 22 (commencing 30 May). This is due to enhancements being made to the range (Skoda call it build year 12). The vRS is now getting the ''Black Look Pack' which comes with the Monte Carlo model. Obviously, there are no further charges'.

I think I might as well ask them to put winter tyres straight on it at this rate, on second thoughts, maybe receiving it to drive this winter is a bit optimistic at this point! :(

Think your dealer is giving you a load of BS. I ordered a red VRS on 1st April it was built last week (Middle of May ) and is now on its way to Germany for shipping to UK. If you check the buld week 20 thread there ote more VRS on there.

i wonder if garages work on some sort of ranking system and better garages get priority as the differences i read here just dont make any sense. i ordered before you harryweld and im told september too

The only thing I can think of is that they throw all the orders in a hat and draw them out; they just forget to mix them up so the orders put in last get draw out first. If you look at the threads referring to build weeks 16 through to 20 all the cars mentioned appear to have been ordered in March or very early April. What’s happened to you guys who ordered back in January and February I don’t know but I was you I would pointing Skoda UK in the direction of this forum and asking for an explanation. A genuine one and not some of the BS you hear from the dealers stalling for time.

At this rate, you'd all probably be quicker cancelling your orders and placing a new one from scratch! (Although with No VAT offer now not on, probably not a good idea :giggle: )

I am quite a calm person normally, but my Fabia vRS order is driving me round the bend. What the hell is happening at the factory ???. I feel like somebody is just taking the pi55 with my order.

Ordered vRS Hatch early January - "Should take around 12/14 weeks sir." (Knew it would be longer from being on briskoda - but didn't mind a bit of a wait.)

First build week issued - week 14.So not too far off original estimate.

Couple of weeks later, call from dealer - "Sorry build now week 17".

Rang Skoda UK a few weeks later to confirm "Looks like it should now be week 20 - but some are coming through sooner !!."

Had a week off work last week (Week 20)- kept thinking about my car progressing down the line, exitement starting to rise. Finally will have something to put my nice logoed car mats in - been gathering dust in the loft for what seems an age. Expected call from dealer this week to say it's on it's way.Got home from work today, light flashing on answer machine, this has got to be it !!.Can hardly bring myself to press the play button. "Hello Mr X ,Skoda here - we think your car MIGHT BE BUILT IN ABOUT 7 WEEKS.

WTF is going on !!!!!!

Am beggining to think, sod the financial consequences of cancelling, I've had enough of being pi55ed about. How can people with similar specs to mine who have ordered months after me now have their cars ??. Rant over and I still don't feel any better.

And I'm not overly keen on the bloody Black Pack either !!

From reading other posts on the forum and Skoda PR material it takes 25 hours to make a Fabia. So the earliest anyone will know it is "really" in production is 25 hours before it rolls off the line. Up until this time it seems no one in Skoda in the UK has any information about what is going on with your order. Why they are not aloud to talk to the factories is beyond me, but this seems to be the case (just like BT customer services are not allowed to talk to engineering staff to know when faults will be fixed).

It would be good if someone at Skoda or VAG could tell customers (and dealers) how their internal communication systems work rather than all the spin and misinformation we get.

Just got a call from my dealer, he's told me i've got the 3 years free servicing....result! All i need now is a car to service!

The order form, I believe, states that you won't lose your deposit if the delay in supplying the car to you is unreasonable - and it would appear that this is the case.

You want to be thankful. I've got to pay my dealer £150 for that bloody black pack because mine is being built on wk21!!

I take it the fabia VRS I have ordered will come with the 'black pack' as it is due to be built week 25 (fingers crossed). I'm a little bit unsure as Ive ordered the 'Black Magic' and think the black pack might just be a little overdoing it on a black car.

i agree especially if you kept the standard silver alloys. i think though that you'd need to see it in the flesh to be sure but if you still dont like it and with it not being what you ordered id say you have a good bargaining tool or even an excuse not to buy. id check the brochure and see if they cover themselves with 'subject to change' or similar wording.

I'll swap you if mine ever turns up!

I ordered my VRS at the end of January (black and totally standard except black wheels) I was told it would be 12 weeks, I'm now expecting it to be between 5 and 6 months.

This weekend I will have waited 18 weeks so will get a £150 marks and spencer voucher from Skoda UK via my dealer. If I get to 25 weeks I will get 'something else'.

Skoda UK don't think(although they aren't sure) mine will come with the black pack as it wasn't the spec. when I ordered. If it comes with standard lights and grill I'll be keen to swap with somebody as I like the black pack.

I was looking to see if I could find a picture of a black Fabia VRS with the black pack on but could only find one of the Monte Carlo... have a look Mike99 see what you think. In my opinion its as I stated before, a bit OTT.

Be interested to know if you get any form of compensation/vouchers. Ordered mine start of January ,and apart from three phone calls from the dealer, I've had sod all.

It's not just the deposit (I would be furious if I didn't get the full amount returned after waiting this long). My trade in will have also lost 6 months value if I go elsewhere. If I did decide to cancel I'd be looking for some compensation for this.
