  • Pet hate, the assumption that because you drive a yeti you're a crumbly with a pipe and slippers. :p I'll get my coat. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

  • Take your pipe and slippers too!

  • Well my pet hate really is serious, I just hate getting out of it after a run about somewhere. The comfort, ride and the fun to drive makes you just want to stay with it all day long.....

So did I Maffa, which says something about the age of Yeti drivers

Nothing wrong with being an aging hippy, man!! :giggle:

Clearly that's some sort of reference to ancient music? :-)

The boot needs a really firm hand to get it to shut. I wonder if this is because the interior is sealed very well and some air pressure builds on a quick boot close? It would be nice to have a warning bong to point the problem out.

I get the deadlock error message. Do we have any idea what that's about?

Parking in the garage with the Auto Headlight function on, it seems to take my Yeti a long time to work out that it is daytime when I drive out.

On the radio thing, can't you just select a 'null' source (eg Aux or CD with no disc in) and 'listen' to that in silence? Then TA announcements will still chime in?

Aye. At first - it is not an error message - just a reminder. It means that noone will get out of the car when you lock it using the remote.

Clearly the case of RTFM :giggle:

My Yeti hates having his temperature taken. Oh, no, sorry, thats my Cat.

Keep your fingers out of the exhaust, you'll end up with mucky paws! :giggle: :giggle:

The sharp cut off on the Xenon headlamps, drives me mad because they're supposed to be load compensating hence the absence of a manual control but the beam is far too short with only one or two up front.

...and that blasted mirror button...so tacky!

I totally agree about the lights I have Zenon lights and the cutoff is totally inadequate for fast dark lane driving.

In my Caddy van I actually adjust my headlights depending on the terrain and if there is traffic in front of me.

I do lots of country lane driving everyday and at this time of the year I am not sure I would survive if I was driving my Yeti the same way. :(

Other than that I think the Yeti is an excellent allrounder.

I have found a new hate, it is when driving in the rain, the water travels between the mirror and door pillar making it difficult to see out the window or to use the mirror, why does the water do this and not travel up the A pillar to the roof like on other cars I have owned?

As per what was said in post #12 & 13 of this thread. :giggle: Look at the A-pillar gutter on this Merc A-class (to show but one example):

mercedes-benz-a-class.jpg

THAT is what I want on my Yeti too to stop the water going over the side windows.

I dislike the way that rain water runs off the roof & also down the front of the roof rails & straight into the car if you have the window down, or the door open, whilst stationery. On previous cars I have owned when there is no gutter, the side of the car above the top of the door projects slightly above the roofline, thus forming a gutter which directs rain water away from the door aperture/window area (like the Merc on Johann's picture).

I don't hate anything about my Yeti, although I agree that many of the features - cruise control, auto wiper, xenon beam shape, mirror heating switch - mentioned previously by other users are a bit irritating. Additionally (unless this has already been raised too and I haven't noticed) I don't understand why the panoramic sunroof blind doesn't have a "one shot" function like the electric windows do: if you want to retract the blind you have to sit with your finger on the overhead switch for a prolonged period, which is pretty inconvenient. Not a hate, but a definite "tut" moment.

Erm, it DOES have a one shot fucntion! You just press it briefly and it goes all the way open or close! :giggle: Press it again briefly anywhere along the way and it stops there.

Every day is a journey of discovery...

That is what this forum is for! Did you also know about this trick in the thread below?

No...

Now, if only the rear seats reclined.

Have you actually been in your own car?! :giggle: The rear seats have about 4 or 5 different notches to semi-recline the seats giving you more or less boot space as a result. Something like this:

Those are not the min and max angles though. The one on the left is clearly more upright than the one on the right. I can't find better photos sorry.
