The LED Lights Thread...

Featured Replies

Most of mine have come of links here, look for HQ lighting on the web or eBay, interiors don't need error free standard LEDs will be fine and you'll save money. , the exteriors need error free ones again best place I think is. HQ lighting but error free ones are 3 times the price :(

I ordered a pair 'CANBUS error free' LEDs (Licence Number Plate C5W CANBUS LED Bulbs Skoda OCTAVIA) from HQ Auto Lighting, hoping they would not give errors. Sadly, these turn on the warning light in dash too (I've tried another pair from another store, same result). D'oh. :(

Any other tips, anyone? The car is a 2011 Octy.

  • To me the Mtec looks like a typical blue light emitting bulb which will perform worse than the original.   Surely first and foremost, brighter with better visibility should be the aim.

Hi!

I have just installed my LED intrior lights in my Roomster 2008.

The problem is that when I lock my car the lights are still glowing a little even if the engine is off.

Why?

Will this drain my battery or do any damage?

Same happens with mine (side ones) not sure why but after many months and still no battery problems.

That can't be right...

Probably some current runs through the battery when the car is not operational - enough to power them but at a faint state - you can barely see them but they are on.

It could be the type of led & how they are made but from my experience most I got (T9) all have the same effect. I think it is a side effect of "led made in china" and "fabia that never meant to have leds in the first place". To this day I never had any battery issues even after a 10 day sitting in the garage.

It's because normal Halogen lights have a fairly high electrical resistance compared to LED's.

The LED's need much less current to get them to light up and this residual current would normally not be enough to get through a Halogen light.

Long term no biggy, but if you leave your car stationary like in an airport expect to have a flat battery.

Mine are fine mo issues at all, even tail light ones ( they should be the ones with the fins on the back not general LEDs like the ones I think it was marttyn not sure though there's a sticky at the beginning of the thread, mine are awesome, waiting for the sidelights now from china ;) 2 sets one for each furby

Not so error free thenemoticon-0103-cool.gif I've looked at them but some say they're not bright enough?

My opinion is those I tried were a bit weaker but not much though.. Would be a perfect replacement.. 19 smd, type 5050..
