The bulbs sit in the reflector bowl and then then wire from the ballast locks it into the bowl, maybe this is the adaptor they are talking about. I can get some pics today as ill be at home. Ill update later

Sounds good cheers, sounds like something I would hope come with the lamps

Sounds like the golf 6 setup. The bulb sits in a holder and completes the circuit when it's installed, thus needing no wires. The holders have a solid back though so you have to buy third party holders to install HIDs.

It's a little sophisticated for a cheap third party lenses though? No sure if it'll use the same method

Just going to have to wait and see can't see mine been fitted for this weekend maybe next week

heres some detailed photos. i stand corrected about the holder, its a ring that holds the lamp and then the connector (red block from previous photo) from the ballast turns and locks onto the D2S lamp.

Opened them yet???

Must be well packaged. emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Just opened one, they look really good, has the projector bowl all included as expected. I'm not 100% how they wire up. I have a few photos on my phone. Does anyone know a handy way of uploading photos from iPhone?

Do they have the motors for adjustment?

No, but on the instructions it says to remove the mounting bracket and fit the self adjusting motor of the original lamp. Im assuming that's it?

Yeah, that's the one thing that's concerned me about these.

I think the adjustment motor might be different in the reflectors compared to the projectors.

I've uploaded the pics to my photo bucket, my email is [email protected] if there is some way you can search and view my photos?

I've just been out to the car, the motors look similar to that in the instructions. Hoping it should be ok

What ya think of them?

They look good! emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Providing the motors fit, I'll probably be ordering a set of these.

I`m pretty sure the motors will be the same from what I`v seen on chris` fabia with projectors

:) nice :) gonna have to order some bulbs now lol you know anywhere good tO buy the clear indicator bulbs?

They look excellent  Doing the motors now Wilsy??... :D

Looks like the Car Mod Shop have the right cable to connect to our ballasts that we already have here http://www.car-mod-shop.co.uk/xenon_hid_kits_parts/Xenon%20HID%20spares%20Bulb%20Holders/D2S-D2R%20HID%20bulb%20connector

So just order a set of D2S Bulbs and a pair of those connectors, and you should be sorted I guess. Looks like the headlamp has the locking ring for the bulb included, as there is a zip tie around it

If the HID's are fitted and the washers don't work, then you fail!!

Do you want that?

The washers wont work because they wont be there, so they cant be tested. If the caps are there they would expect them to work because they would assume they are fitted. All that will happen is they'll check that the headlights are aligned properly. I really cant see the tester going through every car with a fine tooth comb! Only time will tell, but ill just swap back to my old ones if need be

I suggest furby-le you have a talk to an MOT tester about what they will be checking from January

As of today, the proposed 2012 MOT manual says washers and levelling "may" be fitted, where they're fitted, they must work. It's not currently listed as a Reason for Rejection if they're not fitted.

edit -

Vehicles equipped with High Intensity Discharge

(HID) or LED dipped beam headlamps may be fitted

with headlamp washers and a suspension or

headlamp self levelling system.

Method of Inspection:

Where HID or LED dipped beam headlamps are

fitted, switch on the headlamps and check the

operation of any headlamp levelling and

cleaning devices fitted.

Reason for Rejection:

A headlamp levelling or cleaning device

inoperative or otherwise obviously defective.

I've had these in for over two years,

They have a 12month guarantee

Make sure whatever you buy that they are 581 type with

the offset pins or they wont fit.

BUT...

Try one of your current ones in the new lamp before ordering

though as the pattern lamps may take the other variant with

equally spaced pins.

So if it's oem offset fitment you want THESE

if your current bulbs won't go in then you will probably want THESE INSTEAD

Think I've just jizzed in my undies.

I hope mine are here. They will be ( I hope )
