I got them from an independent tyre and wheel place in Essex that got them shipped over for me.

I went for them because they are 7.2kg in 17".

Stock were over 12kg.

Cool :) think I'll be looking for new wheels in the new year. Would like to clear the brakes without spacers

Black Friday sale :)

Hmm didn't think of that. Doubt there will be much discount on wheels?

Same weight as my superleggeras

The glass is coming out too, templates for lighter lexan windows. :)

So I've been without the Yeti for three days...

Wow, they really don't hang about, nice to see it's going well. With that kind of progress it should be ready with loads of time to spare before the track season.

Ready before Christmas hohoho :)

End of Feb hopefully.

Brisky track toy. :)

Will you be fitting a cage Richard?  If you can find anybody that makes one that is.

I doubt it'll be an off the shelf part ;) ;) I'm sure the builders will know or Richard will know somebody who'd weld one in

Really hope to see this in the flesh next year, let you have a spin in Sharky for a go in the RS ;)

Probably a B post hoop with bracing so it's not very easy to see. Or heavy.

Makes sense with the power you are going to be running, have you any idea of the 0-60 times?   I guess the Yeti is a lot lighter than the TT is

LOL cannot wait till this is finished, you're certifiable Richard! But in a good way, onwards and upwards! :)

Just pre-insured the Yeti for it's future TT-RS mods...

Thank you very much.

Its so mad, its off their scale :D

I sent them the video from Brands of me chasing down the R8, it went down quite well. :D

Richard, whilst I admire your commitment and vision for these things, I can't help but think - why not just buy an RSQ3 which is essentially what you'll have when this is finished?

It's an Audi.

I'd also have to change all the suspension, brakes etc... plus I think you underestimate round 2 of the Yeti project.

Think lexan windows, stripped, serious weight savings.

I expect this to be at least 100-150kg lighter than a TT-RS and the RSQ3 is heavier.

This time it's not just a Yeti with a high power engine, it's being built as a proper track spec (road legal) Yeti.

I keep being asked "why not start with a CR170", well, because nobody else has done a 1.6tdi Yeti, just like the soon to exist Yeti RS :)

There is a similar 2010 TT-RS on Copart with minimal damage if you are interested. ;)
