  • Driven it a bit.   In a word, it is...   INSANE!!!

  • We have gone from this:   To this:   To this!!!       A Race Blue Yeti!   I need to get the Annapurnas on I think to complete the change.

I've had a look through my VAG technician training section on Haldex and it doesn't show any difference throughout the range of Haldex4 mechanically

Brilliant :)

That's a lot of cash and I'm assuming it would need a lot of other component upgrades to be able to utilise it's potential output?

Having said that it looks like an amazingly well engineered piece of kit :)

One step at a time I would say, get the engine fitted and mapped then to the track, IF you need more oomph then upgrade what is needed.   Just my two pence worth

That is a lot of moneys!!!!!

It uses all the stage 2 mods I have and just adds 50-60bhp with minimal increase in lag as it's better than stock turbo.

Overall more zip from 5,000 or so RPM with little alteration anywhere else in the rev range.

Part of me says makes more sense while engine is still out...

It's not like APR kit that requires extra upgrades and pushes close to limits of internals.

Well let's look at it, if it doesn't happen now you'll want it in a few months, makes sense to save money in the long run and do it now ;)

Possibly does make sense Richard whilst it is all out, you would probably recoup a fair bit of that cash selling the stock turbo too, a simple map to utilise all that boost and you have a flying machine

Needs some lead weight or some wings to either let it take off or stop it taking off.

Or maybe possible to sort Xman equivalent for a little less? Free's up for some more goodies! :D

REVO do an off the shelf map for the 2.5tfsi with this turbo that makes about 480 or so.

Might need a little tweak or two due to different exhaust.

It may even be possible to achieve the 50-60 horse power with a map and increasing the boost on what you have already?

Drop it off with Wayne or get Wayne to come to you and a rolling road to fettle it, he did my Golf and is quite simply a genius when it comes to mapping.

Stock turbo seems to run out of puff about 440 tops.

I don't want to push it to the limit as the Yeti will spend half it's life lapping tracks.

No point putting parts under excessive strain when it's getting a hard usage,

Whatever you do i am sure it will be well worth it, I am sure the passenger seat will have my name on it next time we are at whatever circuit.

Over-engineered is sometimes best IMO, better to have a little extra even if you don't use it.

I'll admit, part of me fancies going to a GTROC track day in the Yeti and trying to chase down any R35s that are not being particularly well driven...

In my dreams! :D

Do it!   That would be a brilliant day out if the Datsun lads even let you into the paddock with the Yeti that is.

Easy enough done :)

I was chasing one at brands in the wet :D got past too

May as well go for the turbo upgrade. You need the car mapped anyway so makes sense to get it mapped once
