The Twins. (And Yeti RS)

Featured Replies

Wow - looking good. Not only will it be quick but it'll have so much more character than a 4 pot's ever going to provide. Nice to see it coming together. :)

Not to mention noticably more torque at the same power level. :)

Torque.... I've got enough of. Sound.... could do with some more character. :)

Can always use more torque on track! :D

My APR 1.8tsi stage 3 (fairly similar to yours) should have had a claimed 335 lb/ft.

I did run with the stock exhaust rear section, but it made 300 lb/ft.

2.5 tfsi engine is claimed (alledegedly underquoted) to make 332 lb/ft in stock form before tweakage... with a far wider 1,600 - 5,300rpm.

I am hoping we can crack 450 lb/ft, which will be a huge difference in get up and go.

50%+ increase in torque.

60%+ increase in power.

Worth the sacrifice of a TT-RS anyday! B)

For a track car - absolutely agree 100%.

For the car that's used for general family duties plus used (when not carrying the family) for putting down the local M3 and Cayman boys then my 330lb/ft does really well when combined with the awd and having it available from 3,000 - 5,500rpm translates into great real world, useable performance for the road. I do know running the standard rear section of my exhaust isn't helping that figure though too and may consider a change at some point in the future - only thing is, I still want it looking like a standard backbox and pipes! (which is why I didn't do it initially). Tbh, if I was bothered about out and out performance Id simply have Shark up the boost as the K04 is solid and reliable at 1.5bar and Im running far less than that to achieve these figures. :) So for me - its really about the aural stimulation of that wonderful 5 cylinder motor. :)

mindset for castle coomb : *** imagine Richard is there in the skyline, but look for it shaped like a yeti.....*****

Wow what a build, love what you're doing :-)

They are on ignition live feeds, so record about 20 seconds after you switch the car on. I don't use parking mode.

Front is wired direct to the fusebox.

Rear is wired to the ignition live on the rear wiper, saves running cable trough from the tailgate to the car.

Sorry for being a bit thick am new to all this but where is the ignition live on the rear wiper is it behind a panel I know where it is located in the fuse box..Thanks

Remove trim panel from bootlid, turn ignition on and probe the wiper motor connector to see which is which, the one that reads 12v then splice into it

If you do have a custom logo made, how about making it YETTI RS?

Either way, this has been a lot of fun to watch coming together, thanks!

Pop the plastic rear internal panel off the tailgate and find the connector to the rear wiper from the loom.

One is an earth, one is an ignition live and one is the positive supply to activate the wiper.

Piggyback off the ignition live and you can run the cable unseen (when trim put back on) round to the top and mount the rear recorder at the top middle of the screen when it looks through the wiper sweep.

I'm on the mobile at the moment so it's too difficult to find, but if you search my posts you will find a photo of the plug with the wires marked up.

I'd keep the rear wiper for an enhanced view of Upset Caterham drivers :) glad to hear it's going well

Looking good.

It would be for looks.

There is no motor in there. :D

Was just going to bolt it in place.

In which case I wouldn't bother as its of no purpose

Stock(ish) look.

Going to keep it as is for now though.

I can see why you think without it.... do people know a Yeti well enough, those outside Briskoda, to know if it has one or not? So you could have it without, IMO, and not draw too much attention to it. Besides, LOL, it'll help with the aerodynamics of the Yeti without with all that drag ;)

It's one of them things. I don't think a fabia looks right without one as I know they have one.

Wouldn't it come in handy to have a rear wiper with the upright rear screen on the Yeti - or will the plastic glass get ruined by a wiper?

The rear window on my Fabia would get caked without a wiper, it would be like driving a van :(

It is a van. :D

But it's for track days, not a daily drive.

The Milltek on mine kept the standard look, may be worth looking into ?
