Love reading about all your projects,how much more is the insurance with these "mods/upgrades" than a standard yeti..... it must have been a interesting phone call listing them.

thats not bad... I think modified insurance is getting better..... my mods are just £60 on top of my unmodded policy (not as many mods obviously!lol)  but it seems people are no longer being stung as much as they used to be!

I thought it was time for a "Twins" update, seeing as we've had our two daily Yetis for three years now.

After all, that's how this whole thread started...

 

Normal service on the Yeti RS will shortly be resumed.

 

The 1.2 DSG driven by Mrs Fox has, after three years, covered a massive 5,600 miles.

Needless to say it's been absolutely faultless.

It also lives in the garage and gets properly detailed by Rob at Gleam Machine every year (an average of every 1,900 miles) so it still looks like a brand new car.

She loves it and I can see it being with us for a very long time.

 

The CR170 4x4 driven by me has now reached 40,000 miles.  Rather different from the other one.

It's also had a slightly harder life that running kids around, what with several track days (the first at 7 weeks old and 4,500 miles) and numerous towing trips collecting Skodas for the collection or doing people favours.

Only one fault, which was 100% down to a service technition error and the garage paid for out of their own pocket.  Without that it would also have been 100% faultles despite it's use.  Possible the Yeti with the hardest life in the UK with it's numerous track outings and towing near weight limit.

Even now, at 3 years and 40,000 miles I have absolutely no plans to get rid of it.  It really is a great all round car.

 

So two cars over three years, both reliable, practical and fun to drive.  Both cars went straight through thier first MOT with no prep, as you'd expect.

What's not to like?

 

As an overall car I have to say my CR170 4x4 with some light tweaks (remap, Golf ARBs and DS2500 brake pads) is probably the best all round car I've ever had.  It really is a great car and I still enjoy driving it, which is saying quite a lot for me.

Without it I would never had had the crazy idea of putting a 2.5tfsi TT-RS engine in a Yeti.

As a general all round car it is.

Can't make the weekend, but will be there in May.
