The Twins. (And Yeti RS)

Featured Replies

Regarding the rear wiper; being that there's no motor to operate it, would the presence of a non-operating rear wiper cause problems for later MOT tests?

Have you considered what to do with the rear washer set up? The water needs to go somewhere should someone accidentally operate the rear washer from the stalk.

It says a lot about the progress of this build that we're talking about this sort of detail already.

Intercooler spray? :D

That is not such a bad idea really.

Or to clean the interior when passengers **** themselves

Loose the wiper and save all that weight ;)

Or to clean the interior when passengers **** themselves

A very good point because it will happen with the power of this beast!

Power is nothing without control so perhaps the statement should be rephrased - passengers will be likely to soil themselves with Richard at the helm of the Yeti RS beast providing passenger runs :)

I could sit next to Lewis Hamilton in a Mercedes SLR and still **** myself, so I'll stick by my first comment

Has Richard allowed for the wipe clean rubber interior in his weight calculations? :peek:

Looks lovely

Yep - a bit of a tight squeeze!

That looks so good :)

Great quality from the pro alloy team :)

Pro Alloy - awesome quality kit. Interested to know how they brought it forwards - I looked at this with Shark and it was a no go - at least not at a sensible change level. I was after getting an uprated rad and fans in there and an aftermarket IC whilst I was at it but ended up going S3 after we asked a few companies for non existent options. Looking good, really coming along well now Richard! :)

ps - when I pop over I'd love to get a photo of the two cars together.

Maybe I've missed this in the previous 1839 posts....but did you say which company is doing the work ?

The progress they've made, the expertise they have (esp with wiring etc) and touches like all the door/wing/window protection etc really is a good advert for them.

They are BlackVue 400, I got them from TTW. Will find a link if you want.

They come with 16meg cards but you can upgrade to 32.

By altering the frame rate to 15 per second you can get hours and hours on the card before it starts to overwrite the old files. Off the top of my head something like 18 to 20 hours.

I liked the look of these Blackview 400 but it comes with a internal battery no good here the extreme heat would kill it,so am stuck at the moment trying to find a reasonable 2Ch with capacitor definitely a mine field looking at them all..Ugh!!!!!!!

Not yet, no. :)

They are not bolt on tuners or VAG specialists that we usually see on the forum.

They are a race preparation and support business with a lot of handy contacts.

Currently looking after everything from a 1960's single seat racer to a "Super Touring, 1990's" era BTCC car.

At the moment, alongside the Yeti, they are doing a ground up prep on a Lotus Cortina from dipping the shell to race ready.

May I ask what BTCC tourer they are looking after? They still look so epic to this day!

Honda Accord.

Very nice! Shame it isn't the Ford Mondeo, they sound epic with their pneumatic valve's like F1 cars!

Dont need rear wipers for an MOT iirc

Loads of audi a3's have wipers which dont work due to a common fault. Cheaper to just disable it than fix it

Ahh now as long as motor is removed I think it's fine.

He's right, you know.

VOSA document on the subject of Items Tested(Wipers/washers) state that they must operate to give the driver a clear view ahead.

Nothing at all about the rear one.

My latest thought about Yeti RS is this:-

Since the brain transplant whereby Yeti RS now thinks it is an Audi TT in a Yeti suit, how does it cope with having rear doors? Does it know what to do with them when you hit the rear door lock switches or is the locking controlled solely by the front switches?
