I like that! How hard is it to get to the dials? I've always wanted some of those chrome rings on the dials.

bit of pee pee rob. 4 screws. 2 in the cover 2 holding the clocks in. :)

heres a sneak..

Looks good! Very fiddley job but well worth it.

are you still holding dark_hero in a little cage making him work for you?

Looks Good, do like the RS badge on dials too.

Gonna sound silly, but wouldn't it have been easier to take a mk4 golf's blue dials and transplant them?

Giving me ideas again you are and with car off road for a couple of months..... hmmmm.

Not really due to the millage being different and its only a couple of hours work of soldiering and testing the led work.

mk4 clocks are poopie looking (bora sport ones are ok ish) i didnt want blue as the mk4 is. the immobilisers are all different as well and need to be coded to to the car. the DIS screen not compatible either which is a bit gay. So.. not really fella lol

yeh im loving the RS bit as well. will all look mental once the switches, buttons climate are all done :)

all i meant was the blue stuff not whole dial. Yeah will look sweet. Mine is going up the unit tomorrow with any luck, strip her out and have some fun rebuilding her and doing some custom work too.

Still learning curve with VAG for me, understanding what will and wont fit. Vauxhall boy 95% of my driving life, much simpler. lol

all vag clocks have the immobiliser in them. They are coded to the car and theres 3 different types of immo. its in the board so just changing the pretties is a no go bud. :) you can do it with a prog called vag tacho but its long.

i cant tell u nothing about vauxhalls other than they fall apart! lol

you going to big turbo yours now its gone pop mate?

Vauxhalls dont fall apart if they are looked after. see.

20 years old in January, still looks immaculate.

I cant decide which Turbo to go for, gt3071r would be nice, but its the cost of all supporting parts that spirals out of control. Looking at k04-001 or k03s with rs6 internals or k03s with k04 internals. My head hurts trying to decide as have read soo much on different forums i am more confused than when i started. lol.

I have been freed!! Only for a while though!

i do love little bits like this ;-)

takes some patience to do them so fair play remeber watching my bro inlaw do his a few years back and no way could/would i do mine lol ( hands shake syndrome lol)

maybe a tad TMI :D

My dash clocks are really dim, even with roller to top, is it possible to just upgrade the bulbs? or is it more soldering etc?

Wouldnt mind being told they are push in bulbs :giggle:

nope.. its all these little feckers mate..

IMAG3796.jpg

no i asked, are they push in jobs? You say: YES, then i go oh right that sounds easy. Then 5 minutes later i have new lights in my dash.

What you just said is of no help at all!

Ah well dim lights in dash is now a 'night driving anti glare feature'

Youve not heard a word ive said! Sometimes I wonder whether you even care! Your just like my wife, always tells me things i dont want to hear like "get off" or "not now, not NOW" and "get that thing away from me, and stop jabbing me with it".

I usually say, keys on shelf, bread in shop.

Loving the RS sticker on the dials. Skoda should've thought of that. Where did you get the LEDs from? I fancy a colour change. ;)

An entire day reading, and I am very impressed. That's a good job you're doing. Keep it up
