Scottish National Meet - Sunday 29th April,

Crail Raceway

Well folks, here it is again for 2012 - this time

with a difference.

The success of the meet last year was such that

we have REVO backing again this year. However,

it is going to be bigger and better than last year.

The plan is to stage a "REVO Technik" day at

Crail where the UK's best known and most

popular tuner will have a day dedicated to them

at Crail, and SeatCupra.net will have the prime

location next to them at the timing booth for the

2012 National Meet.

What makes this different then?

Well, with it being a REVO day, other marques

will also be invited including

Skoda

Audi

VW

Porsche

Ford

As per last year, there will be live mapping on

the day, so a good chance to run your car before

and after a map to see the difference it makes in

real terms and not a pointless rolling road print

out. It will also give the chance to challenge

other marques and the banter will be pretty high

as a result.

Other attractions will be there on the day, more

details of which are to follow.

Expect show and shine, 1/4 mile classes and the

usual and probably loads more this time.

Hopefully the weather will be good and

hopefully it will get the juices of all things VAG

going.

Please be sure to post this on any VAG forums,

Ford Forums or Porsche Forums you frequent. I

will be posting on the ones I know, it will soon

be on Crails Raceways and Revo Techniks

Website and Facebook pages

Thanks to Willie and the lads at Crail Raceway

and Paul and the lads at REVO for making this

happen.

My car should be mapped by then so I could take a run along and destroy my clutch

I'll extend my AA cover and pop along, never been a quarter mile fan so will just watch.

How much are crail raping ppl to enter ??

£10 at the door and £15 for unlimited runs on the strip. Pretty steep but its cheaper than a night out on the ****!

  • 4 weeks later...

Actualy quite tempted now, seen what the mk2 vrs can beat in a straight line and i want a slice of that pie :D

The vrs can take on quite a lot. I'll be there come hell of high water.

Great stuff lads! Can you see if you can round up as many folks as possible as the Fordy lads always come in big numbers and I also want to see Fabia's and Octavia's giving the RS/ST's a really hard time :sun:

DSG isnt great off the line though, showed last year at crail.

The wet Clutch DSG's with Launch control are fine off the line.

The smaller 7 Speed Dry Clutch DSG isn't so good, not sure what the 7 speed Dry in the Audi TTRS is like though.

I find it good of the line..... Grip steering wheel tightly, mash foot to the floor, fight to keep a straight line, chocke on the smell of burnt rubber, and then sit back and wait to cross the finnish line :)

I might even take the tow bar off & leave the pram and baby seat this year ;-0

I ain't gonna be going folks, hope its a good one

There is a Ford gathering in Dundee the day before the Crail event. It's been organised through facebook however some from aberdeen and further are booking a hotel and staying so they can get to Crail early. Most have old school Escorts Cozzies and such. Fast Car will also be in attendance, so hopefully a fair few will go to Crail the next day.

FYI https://www.facebook.com/events/215717181861089/

I hope new school RS's attend as well as the old school RS's. Revo are bringing a 420bhp Audi S5 and a 425bhp Focus RS anyway. A REVO stage 4 500bhp S3 is running as well as several Stage 2+ Mk2 Leon Cupra's.

Wonder how my "id rather push a skoda than drive a ford" sticker will go down :D

Spoke with Stuart from SP Autobahn last night and he is attending the meet at Crail on behalf of Revo so pop along and have a talk to him .

This guy knows his stuff and is very approachable .
