  • I started stripping the interior out of the 1.2 Classic yesterday... nice feeling. Project is a GO!

  • The R35 is going soon. It's great... But also a bit boring unless you are doing something you shouldn't be. And everyone knows what it is, so they don't want to play. Plus, although it's slower I h

  • No, I found a very cheap 1.2 petrol with high milage at an independant dealer. Doesn't even have electric windows. Perfect! When I mentioned the car's future it was suggested by the dealer that a

Not sure I have time.

After this morning's madness I may be picking up a 4x4 Fabia with a 1.8t engine and coming straight back... :o

Bulk of the work done then :)

This has the potential to be very interesting indeed

Nope.

It will donate plenty of parts though, including WRC bodykit.

Steering wheel is on the wrong side.

And it's still "I may be picking up". :)

Nothing is set in stone until you have it these days...

I was going to suggest you just buy an ex-WRC car - you are clearly one step ahead :)

You seem to be living my dream - first the GTR and now a 400+bhp 4wd Fabia - I have weekly dreams of having the time and cash to do this - will watch the build with eager anticipation - good luck

This should be awesome

No pressure then!

well it's pretty good now but it'll be awesome when it's RHD ;)

  • Author

I'm not going to convert it to RHD. That would be far too simple! ;)

It's going to be a template/donor to build a UK spec Fabia into what I want.

This would be epic.

When are you thinking of doing this?

I've already started.

Hopefully the 4x4 1.8T Fabia will be in my possesion this weekend (I've paid a deposit).

The 07 plate (latest I could find) mkI Fabia UK car is paid for and arriving tomorrow.

Plus I'm on the lookout for bits and bobs...

I've already ordered a pair of Carbon Fibre front seats that weight 3kg each (plus 1kg for the mounts), but they take about 6 weeks so are due the beginning of May.

The wheels are in motion!

I just need to finish it before the men in white coats come and take me away... :giggle:

I cannot wait to see this progress.

Pretty much what I'd love to do if I had the money :)

Dare I ask how much this is going to cost in total?

:x

Oh yes Richard, this is awesome! Looking forward to reading all of the future updates, best of luck building your dream machine

you should do this to an Fabia estate i reckon

Ohh, this sounds like my own dream Fabia. If the engine in the Golf my mate has is not damaged, i might do the transplant.

So just to clarify, this is going to be a road legal track weapon?

Best of luck with the build :) its really going To be fantastic to watch the car take shape and to see someone being able to realise one of their 'dreams/ambitions'.

Yes. That's the plan.

So I can do track days, Santa Pod, Briskoda meets and an evening potter around some country lanes if I fancy it.

Oh yes Richard, this is awesome!

See!

Told you it was awesome! :D

Should definitely be translplated into a sedan though

Top work Richard,

Did you buy the 07 Fabia from a Skoda dealer? would have loved to have heard that convesation,

" I'm going to stip it to bits and rebuild it with 500bhp"
