Haa. Oh its all fun n games ;).

Looks a little bigger than my HTP ;) haha

That was the 530D swaping out main stat and EGR stat and removing the swirl flaps..... Then did a ton of work for MOT got it all good as a long term car and the Mk1 Octy I have now popped up on Gumtree and I left the house 15 minutes later and drove 2.5 hours bought it on the spot :D Living the Skoda MPG dream again now :D

But more importantly I have been keeping my eyes peeled for a ZZR1200 and TODAY one has appeared for sale in NI! Right bike, right miles, right price, but no luggage or racks and I would love another black one.... I am very tempted! Sad thing is it wouldn't fit in my gate. :o I could put it in my parents rented garage 7 miles away and get cracking on sorting out driveway 2 at the house. However I still am yet to find a job, so would be more sensible to wait :( I would get that bike and keep the 636 as well, as it's a fun light wee bike to potter about NI in, but I want a European tour bus of a bike and IMO the ZZR1200 is where it is at for me! Big bike, big mpg, comfy, upright, carries loads and a stealthy unsuspecting absolute missile!

That does look in really good condition!

Go on. You know you want you ;)

I often run over that way in summer.

Ice cream van at the top (:

Love blasting up that hill haha

I normally go over Snake the opposite way, short steep climb and a long decent, there certainly isn't any 'blasting' on my little bike :D , I still enjoy it and that's all that matters

I was thinking of the big hill from glossop side up onto the top at Holme moss (last of the summer wine land). (:

It is the enjoyment that counts, you're right. I loved my 125. Probably never had as much fun on any other bike tbh.

That's a good long climb, I usually cycle over Holmemoss as its only 5-10miles from home :) , decided to be lazy that day though.

Just back from Aldi, have just picked up a Balaclava/Neck wind guard and a High Vis-vest as my other High Vis-vest got torn when I was working on the Sustrans cycle network on saturday

Rather you than me cycling up there. I wouldnt make it haha.

Theres a nasty bump near the top though. I think the ground moves abit, its been resurfaced again now but got quite bad at one point.

My dad went up when he had his Harley n bent the front wheel when he hit it. No pleasant lol.

The best thing about the climb is the decent on the other side :) , when the conditions are right I often overtake cars on my push bike going down it :) , I've had a top speed of 50.3mph (GPS recorded), not bad for a push bike :)

I visited my local Honda dealer on the way home from work today and was surprised to say the least. I've visited before for a rebuild kit for the old CB and for the little caps for the rear wheel of the new CB but aside from that not had much to do with them. I went mainly for a new oil cap and seal, the current one weeps a little unless it's really really tight so I thought I'd try sticking a new one on. While I was there I thought I'd just enquire as to how much all the service bits would be, mainly oil/filter, air filter, brake fluid, coolant, and sump washer. I'd checked online using various places that I had discount codes for, the total come to around £130 or so. I would have been happy to pay a small amount more for the convenience of it all coming from one place and to support my local dealer.

To my shock, the total was about £110. I left the oil out because I wanted to read up a bit on it first but I ordered a proper Honda filter tool, so it come to the same, about £110. The woman then knocked off 10% 'loyal customer discount' :D Plus, it'll all be there tomorrow (it was only really the oil cap that needed ordering in) and I can pick it up on my way home from work. Well chuffed, I was expecting to be raped with it being honda but really pleased.

Just got to decide on Oil now......

If going downhill, you are going further than the GPS thinks you are as it measures level ground only, so your 50.3 could be 55mph on a steep hill  :D

I'm hoping its quite accurate as it also works out the percentage of the gradients as I ride up/down them & it ties up nicely with signage and working out climbs looking at contours on a map.  My bike GPS always appears to under read compared to the GPS on my phone

Either way, its great fun being on 2 wheels :)

*edit* my text didn't post with the video gurrrrrrr

The clip above is part of a mini project I am toying with. I want to know what speed it looks like in video? It has been sped up as much as I can get away with, before it looks to obvious, no stabilisation on any of that segment yet either.

I would put the back brake there like it is on a push bike :D I don't have much feeling in the right lower leg, so it's more of a 'I am telling it to press down' and then looking/listening for the brake rather than the normal feel. Bloody weird!

No reason why you couldn't. I reckon it would be quite easy.

All you would need is a hydraulic clutch lever and a long braided line to the calliper.

You never really use the rear brake hard anyway, except in an emergency stop!

I have had a few over the years but never used one once! My ROSPA card is meant to be good for 10 or 15% off stuff in Halfords...... hummmmmm But I am still holding off for the 200 piece set to go on offer again (it's at full RRP at present £300!) Easter I am hoping :D I have been messing about looking at them since last easter and have done some amount of work on my cars mainly since then, where I have struggled on by with odds and sods :(

Heads up!

:D I've just been pricing up torque wrenches, if you haddnt realised until I bought that ratchet set I owned no tools at all. Halfords Pro ones get a good review, hoping the trade card knocks off as much as I've read, if so I'm going halves with a mate on a pair to cover all the nm ranges we need.

Went for a quick spin earlier, oil cap is annoying me, it needs to be done up really tight to seal properly. Hoping a new one will solve the issue. My chain need tightening too, another job to do, at least my pads and discs are good still.

Can you get a set cheap for me :D

Oh and the exhaust I want was £400 plus £10 postage, then it was put on offer for £310 plus postage. I nearly bought it last night but decided to wait, had a little look on ebay earlier and found it for £210 without the cat cover (another £70) so I messaged them about it and they said they'll do me exhaust and cover for £260! So all in all £140 saving, £50 off what I expected even with the offer! Already cleared the £320 from savings with the mrs so now need to decide what else to get for the bike :D

You not got a trade card? My mates not in the trade but blagged himself one somehow, told them he was self employed and knocked up some payslips and business cards I think.

Not any more :( Used to get them fairly easily from the manager of the local ones when I worked all over England due to the volume of orders we put through their branch.

According to my mate who runs a machine polishing business, who tried this week, you now need an NVQ or similar in a relevant trade to get one, I just showed them my website and flyers and they gave me one a few years back

Ah, bad times. If there is anything you want that has a decent saving with the card I'd can always buy it and chuck it in the post to you.

200 piece socket set please :D

\my dilemma is that I can justify getting the set as I had the interest paid on my ISA the other day and although it's not much, it would cover these. But at the same time I am humming and haaaaaing over a set of alloys for my car with good tyres....... I can't justify getting both and I should get my annual rates bill any time now and I pay that bad boy in a oner.

Hahaha, sadly the trade card doesnt work on stuff thats on offer most of the time, although I did et some screwdrivers down from £15 to £7 then down to £6 odd with the trade card.

I know the feeling of juggling the cash prize moneies, I'm suppose to be sensible with cash just now but at the same time I need to service the bike, need to tools to do it and need the luggage for my trip next month. Obviously I dont need the exhaust but everyone else has one..... :D
