The sheer muscle too, is emphasising he means business

When I am on the road and not in my Skoda I am on a Victory Judge. The big American V twin is well suited for touring around Australia. Here's one from a fair way down under, Cradle Mountain in Tasmania, my mate rides a Harley Road King.

Strange your experience was so different to mine, though I did pamper mine and for a beemer owner I did low milage and avoided the worst of the weather and kept it clean, so that might explain things. Mine was a 52 plate and the chap that bought it paid what I was asking without any quibbling at all. I really liked mine especially with the laser exhaust, no cat and ecu chip. Even then it wasn't what you'd call fast but it had a character my jap bikes never had.

So you don't think I'm anti BMW, can I just say that I've had 6 of them in total i think ('81 R65RS, '84 R80ST, '86 K100RS, '89 R80RT, '89 K75C, '03 R1150R) and the R1150 is the only one that's had poor build quality.

I fitted a Remus can and decat pipe and it sounded lovely. Shame I had to use the angle grinder to remove the original exhaust clamps due to corrosion

Well as I have said before (possibly in here) Triumph are no better at the clamps and so forth as mine have all signs of corrosion on them and the bike isn't two years old yet.  OK it was ridden n the winter but it was protected with ACF50 so should have been ok really.  I am going to have to spend some serious time on it and look at replacing one or two fixings.  I still have a 'shock sock' to fit but cannot get my fat fingers in behind the shock absorber to fit it properly.  Must try harder.

Not doubting you for a second mate, just that it was strange we had such different experiences. IIRC as a 03 bike yours would have been 1 of the last before the 1200s appeared so that might be something to do with it-perhaps they changed suppliers who knows.....I liked mine because it wasn't a characterless Jap bike or a HD.

Had to throw a spanner in the works.

But my 2002 VFR hasnt got a spot of rust on it, no fasteners, nout. Everything just cleans off tbf.

Although its still only got 20k on the clock now, and im OCD when it comes to the car and bike, so probably not that much of a test haha

My 'Fazer fwiend' from the post above got a tattoo when he passed his test with a mate of his who did it at same time..................

not his arm, but same thing:

The abuse when it was proudly shown to me in work one day HAHAHAHAHAHA

If he doesnt wheelie off into the distance when you try ;)

Been constantly watching vids on you tube lately and strangely a lot of them are London commuters (Baron Von Grumble and Royal Jordanian etc) which are fun to watch.

I don't have the money and don't need to change bikes but im tempted to go and blag a test ride on a S1000rr. I think it might be a mistake if I do

Anyway been seriously thinking about a quickshifter but didn't realise how much they are :(

I posted a while back my brother borrowed a S1000rr a few months back, loved it. I've been looking at new bikes, I dont really wanna start test riding for the same reasons, I'll end up not wanting to take it back.

I'm fairly sure P187 was in one of BvG videos a while back, on a WR450 I think?

Ages ago someone was telling me about various 'Vloggers' and I didnt really think it sounded like my kinda thing, then I stumbled upon a BvG video and ended up spending a few days watching everyone of his videos back to back. :D I think it's drawn me in because he talks about lots of different things, and seems to have similar views as me on things often.

I've just started watching a bit of P187 and RJ, neither quite take me as much a BvG but I still enjoy watching them.

Svengali (RIP) started it all as the first biker vlogger on youtube and was from the UK. Just about every vlogger online today inc the 3 above have a video after his death passing on their respects and directing people towards a fund for his kids. Was a class guy only chatted with him a few times about bikes and injury stuff, but was first class!

The temptation to buy a tuono is already strong!

Do it. It's the best bike I've owned for doing everything with panache. South of France, no problem. Upsetting folk on trackdays, love it. Commuting, fun.

Mine might have to go this year due to knee injury..... :'(

Oh snap, I've been looking at V4s

Oh snap, I've been looking at V4s

Owning a v4 atm, and having had a vtwin in the past, i want a vtwin!

The older ones are twins then? I've only really looked at the newer ones.

I think it changed to a v4 in 2011, but dont quote me.

If you're serious, get a test ride on both. I love a vtwin, deep, snarling torque wherever you are in the revs.

A v4 seems more half way house between an inline 4 and a vtwin. More peaky than a twin, but more grunty than an IL4.

I just dont like inline 4's if im honest, and love a good vtwin.

But its each to their own of course, you could well prefer the v4 (:

Ive just realised what a sound whore I am :D

Theres no way I could ride a bike with a standard exhaust (maybe a GS/explorer). I love the sound of my bike and I do believe loud pipes save lives
