I like it. Did Spain last year on my first sat up bike, a FZ6 Fazer. Got the Z1000SX for this year. Loads better, plenty of grunt which I like cos I'm lazy, handles well, easy to ride. Now for next year I'm still pondering. Three of the lads have Ducati Multistradas which they all swear by, but in the past I've never like twins. I quite like the look of the GSX-S1000F. Also like the BMW S1000R but I'd need to add a screen.

My initial gripe with the Z1000SX was no gear indicator (considering it was a new bike and not the cheapest one either), but then I quickly found, it didn't really matter what gear you were in with the smooth torque lol. If I had have waited 6 months and got the 2013/14 model, I think I might still have it, but you live and learn. I like the **** kicker wee carb whore I have at the moment still as, as much as I would be annoyed if it was damaged, it's old and only worth a couple of grand :D ZZR1200 is still one I have my eye out for as a tour bike and keep the 636 for it's current usage. The Multistrada is actually a bike I would quite like to try. But location and roads I am likely to use speaking I would more likely be better off with a Versys (kwak kwak :D ) Have you had a shot on one yet (Multistrada)??

S1000XR maybe?

Id have a Multistrada personally.

Infact. I really do want one quite abit aha.

Yes I do like the S1000XR too. What I end up depends on how I split my money. I'm selling my car too, so I'll be getting a new car and a bike. How much I'm going to spend on which I haven't decided yet.

No haven't had a ride on the Duck yet. Probably should really. I had a SV1000 for 10 days cos I hated it, but I know the Multi will be very different.

The only gripe I've got with the SX is no temp gauge. I hate that I can't see when it's warmed up, or that it's not getting too hot. Oh, and the standard brakes were shockingly bad. Fortunately new pads is all it takes to fix that.

Aye the dash arrangement was more like something you'd find on a 250 tbh.... and I bet it's exactly what was on the wee ninja at the time! 2013 saw a good change in that with on board computer and multi map modes / traction control options etc. All I had as an option really was ABS or no ABS and the luggage which they tried to charge me over a grand for was a free upgrade from Kawasaki UK at the time, which I rather annoyed highlighted to them.

Stuck a Remus Hexacone on the RT, it's starting to loosen up a bit as well, having done just under 6k now since buying it at the end of March.

Very nice!

Got an MOT on my heap of crap Kle 500 now!

Doesn't mean it won't keep breaking down but it's getting there ish

Will try and post up some pics of my soon to be winter hack

Fubar, would do if i knew how to post photo's.  So far tec shocks fitted BUT there is alot of speculation that these may only last a year, if they keel over then Hagon's are on the possible fitment list.  Standard shock doesn't have much damping.  Like gObGB bonnie too ;-)

Next on list, get rid of air injection system to make run smoother and no jerks when opening throttle.

There is some good info from Triumph rat forum (forschetto) and dellboys garage on  youtube (Moonfleet.)

Fit Led warning indicator bulbs as standard ones you cant see in sunlight (Carb and early EFI models.)  Later changed to VDO clocks around 2011.

so better setup?  Apologies for my geekness. lol.

Hello from Dublin

I ride a zx6r and a street triple (sadly not at the same time)

90 minutes (on 2 wheels) up the road in Fermanagh here, also with a ZX6R.  :hi:

nice one, Ive a 2005, C1H silver - recently powdercoated wheels, must get a pic up

Do you think you could stop talking about ZX6R's?  I am seriously considering a second bike to go out on when my wife is not pillion and along with a couple of Hondas the ZX6R is on my list.

Been looking at one of them when I was considering buying a second bike to go with the Tiger.  Have you had it long?  Any problems with the cam chain tensioner?

Nice! Lovely bikes.

Been looking at one of them when I was considering buying a second bike to go with the Tiger. Have you had it long? Any problems with the cam chain tensioner?

Ive looked at em before too.

The reason why i bought a vfr instead:

1, low mileage ones are hard to come by

2, the 80 mile tank range would do my nut in, although the later ones get a slightly bigger tank.

And from what ive read, alot of manual camchain tensioners have been fitted.

Lovely bikes though, cant beat a big Vtwin (:

Seriously looking at a second bike for when I am out on my own.  Not in a rush and happy to wait until the weather turns and loads of people decide biking is not for them because it is cold and wet and then I can pounce!

I want something a bit different to the Tiger though.  Have been looking at Kawasaki ZR6 and 9 thanks to Fubar posting pictures of his!  Also the v twin thing appeals as well.  I want something a 'bit' sporty but not nuts.

A VTR would do the job nicely perhaps.

They go for peanuts too. A real bargain.

Although maybe chuck some cash at the suspension.

I love the SP's i do. Reaallyy like those haha.
