I managed to get out again yesterday afternoon. Just a little trip to a bike cafe near Oxford wit my brother. Was a good laugh, much more enjoyable not being soaked through :D Brother was being his usual stupid (but often amusing) self, nice weather and the bird he brought with him was a good laugh too! I'm decided I want a new bike sometime over winter, not sure what yet, I'll keep the CB500 as a hack and get something more sporty for weekends. After another go on my brothers K7 GSXR it's lovely but the pegs are far too high, if adjustable rear sets are available then I might get away with them. I could go down the sports tourer route, VFR would be top of my list if that was the case or get the Ninja which seems to be in between the both. Got loads of time to decide yet so no hurry!

Good to see you're ploughing on with the bargain hunting Gerry, I need new boots and gloves next so might have a hunt about see what I can get!

Yeah a really shiny one (I have many cleaning issues  LOL)

No probs whoring some pics, I took these Friday evening before

I set off for Cardiff to collect the leathers. I estimate the fuel used was about

8 quids worth and about 80 odd mile round trip,

It was cool riding over the Severn Bridge. It seems so much bigger than when you

drive a car over it. No fee on the bridge for a bike (£6.40 for car £12 something for my little van)

I put the jacket in one pannier and the trousers in the other. The sat nav was bob on

in its first proper find somewhere mission on the bike. Expensive but totally worth it.

And rear view with the boxes on, 2@35litres so pretty big boxes really.

Underslung exhaust means they can be equally sized too and well away from any heat.

Yes! Looks very nice!

I also have cleaning issues. Nevermind though. We'll survive. Just aslong as we dont get rained on! Haha.

Glad you're enjoying it :).

Whats on the cards for a second bike then? The er6 is a parallel twin isnt it? How dya find that?

I was just thinking how big those panniers look.

Mine are the same size but mine look much smaller.

Infact. Are those actually givi v35 panniers? But branded and coloured Kawasaki?

If so, they are the same as mine.

They do look the same.

Yeah, I think so.... Came with the bike.

The ER is a pretty small bike tbh.

I'm only six foot tall and I look huge on it.

Ah. Does loook nice though :). Size isnt everything, apparently..

How do you find the power? Never ridden a parallel twin myself

It's nice and useable. About 70 odd bhp.

Good pull from low revs, fuel injection helps,  But still very vibey at 4k.

Happy to pull round to redline at 11k, gets a 2nd wind from 7k to redline.

It's supposed to be good for about 140 but I've never pushed

it that hard.

I never realised it's a parallel twin, I think mine is too.

Tbh. It sounds a little like the SV650's vtwin. Thats power sort if edges off after around 9000 though. Short shifting at 8000k is best i always found.

Engine config is the boss Matt. All the different configurations give different power delivery. I was intent on getting a bigger v-twin after the SV but settled for the vfr's V4. Its sort if a happy medium between a v twin and an inline four.

Its more peaky than a vtwin (very flat torque curve) and more torquey at low revs than an inline four (very rev happy)

Im hoping to get out on my bike quite a few times from next week.

I have a lot on at work so im not going away with the family to Czech, im staying home alone which means time to do what ever I want mmwwwhahaha

Does mean I miss out on all that Czech food and beer though

Hope you have the weather for it.

Windy as hell and VERY heavy showers here in Bristol today.

Anyone tried conti sport attacks? just ordered some for my mille, seem good reviews for the price

My mates got them on his zzr600. He loves them. Hes the fastest rider out of us all (too fast IMO) and thry stick well for him.

Also. My dads done a few thousand miles around Europe on his r1200gsa with the 'conti trail attacks' and loves them. I think theyre the same tyre just fit adventure bikes

So much want!!

Thats brilliant. I want one too!

No reason it cant be done though is there. Have u seen the skiing goggles? Theyre astounding now.

1500 dollars makes it nearly £850 then?

I'll wait a few years till it goes down abit thanks haha.
