Probably legit. Seen forces do offers on different security devices in the past. They tend to go quickly and be aimed at a very small market, luke this one is a particular station and bikes upto 125cc.

I have a confession to make....

I have bought myself the wrong lid :(

Took the wifes lid out for a road test this evening.

HJC RPHA ST

What a difference!!! Night and day!!

Lifesavers are 10x easier at high speed with virtually no change

in turbulence.

My Shark is great when looking straight ahead but a life saver at over

70mph is like having your head violently twisted round.

The field of vision is better as well, I wore the HJC without earplugs and it was

as loud as mine is when I have ear plugs in.

I thought the top ventilation was better too.

Bu99er! Now I have to save up for a new lid.... LOL

Which shark do you have? I have an s900 and it's the badger could do a life saver at over 150mph no dramas and is pretty quiet. I am looking at a newer shark lid with a wider field of vision, but don't want to run into the model you have had!

HJC arent an expensive lid are they?

Iv got a shoei and i love it!

I have the Shark Speed R,

The one you are referring to Fubs is the Shark Vision R I think.

This pic illustrates well the wide angle view.

The Daddy of the Vision R range is THIS BADBOY

Heres a  video review of the more general ones in the range.

The HJC I have retails at £279. It's toward the top of their range.

Theyre all tested to meet certain standards. So safety isnt too much of an issue.

£280 at the top of their range is only just starting at the bottom of some other brands like shoei or arai.

Its more about what suits your head shape and needs than manufacturer i think.

Yea I just looked back in the tread, I have been promising myself the vision-R for over 18 months now on here lol (search 'vision-r') the design of one I want comes up in the results when I posted a pic of it :D :D :D :D I really want one again now, but the S900 is still dead on and I would say it's got another year of serviceable life left in it.

Rather less embarrassing LED upgrade to the lad's bike this weekend

That's what I intend to change next month, I'm also looking at how I can make my headlight brighter without going over the 35/35w 12v bulb

You can get generic HID kits for bikes that a few mates of mine have got, properly adjusted they are really good

I've been looking at some, but, in the long term the wiring on the 125's don't seem upto the job & often burn out

And how, prey tell, do you adjust them properly?

I think it depends as some draw a lot less current there are some 25 w ones iirc

Just make sure you not sending a beam of light into the stars or searching for night crawlers!

Mine has adjuster screws and there's pleanty of online guides about set ups, ie park on level in front of garage door and measure and adjust the beam patern

Lad's bike is fitted one of these type of "semi halogen" (whatever that means) bulbs and it's pretty good

The Givi kit was £25 or so from eBay

If they've improved the aftermarket kits so you can focus them and get a proper beam pattern then they've come a long way from the kit I tried on my BMW a while back.

And far better than many of the bikes I see out and about

No I don't think you can actually focus the beam but you can get it pointing the right way

Having said that I've just found this eBay kit

Have played with the idea of another S900 but with pinlock this time. I could get the visor for current one, but it would feel like I was wasting money on a lid whose days are numbered. They have some nice carbon S900's now though :o There used to be a paint scheme called 'Marine' that looked nice.

Since it was a horrid day of rain, wind, mist and repeat! I decided to take the bike out anyway since she isn't exactly a brand spanker :D :D :D

Pic of the day. Featuring the S900 in all it's glory, which I didn't neglect to polish properly making it hard to see and impossible to clear rain....  :peek:
