Aha. Enjoy it :) its what its there for :)

Im at the stage with the vfr where i just seem to be spending money. New set of tyres, air n oil filters, new oil etc. could do with having a pro look at this immobiliser too.

It just seems to be a money pit at the moment :(.

So very soon I've decided I'll start to learn to ride :) with the ultimate aim of doing staged access to unlimited power by the age of 21! I'll have to start off with a 125cc with less than 11kw as you all know so I'll be looking at getting myself an Aprillia RS125 however this will take a fair amount of time as and when funds allow! 3apazage.jpg

I already ride occasionally off road on a mates bike!

I refuse to allow the 636 to be a money pit, I like it but I don't like it enough to do that lol. It had 2 new tyres on for MOT and they had done zero miles as it was trailered to MOT then I bought it days later. BT21's are a pain in the hole but will last a good while. I was storm chasing today and was basically at the edge of it for first hour or so, so all greasy roads flaming thing was all over the place :( I know those hoops will last a good while too! Might time it to move bike on when tyres are coming up for changing lol.

Good stuff oh toxic one! No massive rush to the power, if better for funds to take a bit longer. Either way 2 wheels is 2 wheels and slowly working your way up is the best way to learn. I always told myself I would get an RS125 and start from there but didn't have the new restrictive process of licence acquisition

I know as me and Mr Taylor were saying the Govt are trying to make it harder and harder to get a full licence from a young age! Anyway I'll slowly work my way up at a rate I'm comfortable with :)

My names Oli or Oll by the way :) ( short for Oliver). I keep meaning to add this to my profile details but havent got round to it yet haha.

Itll be worth it in the long run. A 125 2 stroke rs125 is about as fast as a golf gti to 60mph.

The feeling of freedom is the best bit though. Its awesome. Not wrapped up in a cage.

Turns out I was spotted today too while ridding my a mate who 'heard me coming' making my way up the winding forest road. This is the only picture ever of me on a bike, that I know of!

Track bike!!!

As much as I would like to, my semi metal leg would be lost if broken again so kind of kills things like that off :(

Sorted my loose wire today, first time I've soldered anything :D Seems to be ok now though. Was going to go for a trip to a local bike show but brother let me down so now I'm taking the plunge and sticking my gopro on my lid. Just charging it up and formatting the memory charge before I got for a spin.

which GoPro is it? My HD Hero2 is a pig for SD card formatting I have to do it in the camera most of the time or I just get 'SD Error' bahhhh. Bring us back some footage :D might be worth testing it by playing back on pc before you go to help set up angle the way you want. Mine looks like it's pointing at the sky but it's dead ahead just above bike most of time. First time I used my GoPro (30 min after it arrived in post) I got angle perfect IMO, but after that I had a few rides where it was just staring down at dash and not much else lol

HD hero 3, I'm gonna format it in the camera once it's charged, easier than fecking about on the PC. Have you not got a smartphone? Download the GoPro app and you can see where the camera is pointing on the screen as you adjust it, saves lots of time setting it up when I mounted it in the car, was gonna do the same on the bike.

Not on HD Hero2 without wifi backpack and a bigger case. I am much to cheap to do that lol

Ah yeah, sorry forget which cameras have which specs lol. It's charged up so I'm off out to try and get a good line of sight and try it out.

I have a confession to make....

I have bought myself the wrong lid :(

Took the wifes lid out for a road test this evening.

HJC RPHA ST

What a difference!!! Night and day!!

Lifesavers are 10x easier at high speed with virtually no change

in turbulence.

My Shark is great when looking straight ahead but a life saver at over

70mph is like having your head violently twisted round.

The field of vision is better as well, I wore the HJC without earplugs and it was

as loud as mine is when I have ear plugs in.

I thought the top ventilation was better too.

Bu99er! Now I have to save up for a new lid.... LOL

Sorry to hear that mate, It's a very good lid I found, of course I only had the £45 Box cheapo lid to compare it to. Again, night and day.

It's about midway up the HJC range, the most expensive lid of theirs being around £450

The shell is a blend of Kevlar, Fibreglass and Carbon fibre which sounds like a good mix to me.

Plush lining, free pinlock, but the vents stand out above all - great in summer.

ACU approved as well which is handy for trackdays?

Keep a beady on Fowlers who might have another 15% off helmets weekend, that's when I picked mine up  :)

I don't like Fowlers. They are so big they don't

care about the customer IMO.

They certainly didn't want to work for my money....

Wouldn't let me test ride a bike even with a 100%

cash deposit. They blew their chances with me the day they

told me I'd have to just buy the bike and see.

'What if I don't like it?' I said...

'Ah, we'll buy it back off of you if you don't...'

'For what I paid?'  I asked

'Near enough...' was the best  answer I could get.

Told them to stuff it.

Their 2nd hand bikes are overpriced anyway.

At the time I was interested in a 59plate ER6F with 11000 miles or £3700 they had

In the end I got a MINT 13plate facelifted model with only 1100miles for just 300quid

more than that which still has a years Kawasaki warranty left to run and full OEM luggage.

I wouldn't put a penny in their till ever again because of that.

Their loss. I was considering asking to test pilot a couple - won't bother now.

The people on kit were good enough in my experience.

Doesnt sound like they actually wanted to sell you a bike haha

Some places are stupidly overpriced. I was lookin at a vfr around here.

1999 model

45,000 miles

Tatty to average condition.

£3500

To put that into comparison. I Eventually got a

2002 (52 plate)

15,000 miles

Good condition with no pitting or corrosion anywhere

Givi rack and v35 panniers (£400 atleast)

For £3200

How some dealers expect to sell bikes is beyond me

I dont normally bother with this kinda ****e as I doubt it'll do anything but the country roads round here are all getting mullered with this ****e so thought I'd share it with fellow bikers.
