This annoying changeable weather is getting on my norks.

It's blazing sun and warm one second, blowing a gale the next and chucking down

Nice one, keep us updated on that!

Oh I will, currently shes a bit nervous, but then again she is a complete novice.

I'm hoping that will make her easier to teach fingers crossed.

And at least she gets the whole leaning thing having spent time on with me.

I guess that means she's also learned to trust the tyres to a certain extent.

Well, she has a full set of kit now, full leathers, good lid with pinlock visor, decent boots

and gloves and all manner of undergarments and the guy who will be teaching her is the same

fella that coached me. He knows he has his work cut out this time and that he got off lightly

with me. This time he can earn his money :p

Aha. Good luck to her!

Im sure she'll be fine! Its more of a training session than a test isnt it.

She's got her eye on a 125 that's 185 miles away as the crow flies....

Guess who'll be getting lumbered with getting that home at about 60mph :dull:

Might hire a van.... My kangoo is too small for a bike inside....

L plates and back roads and follow on the green machine! Be a good days lesson!

60mph? Pfft. Thats tiresome on a 125. A steady cruise at around 50mph is more achievable in my experience.

Less hassle to hire a transit.

My mate got a zx6 in a vw caddy (short wheelbase) so a 125 in one should be easy enough.

I've had off road bikes diagonally across a VX Combo :)

It can be done cant it!

Kangoo is the same size as a combi isnt it?

I reckon a 125 would go in yanno...,

Give or take a bit! I took the bulkhead off and flipped the seat forward then strapped it down!

Its an effort id be willing to go to to get out of 185 miles at 50mph max.

I enjoyed riding my CG125 back in the day, but i couldnt cope now. I'm not happy on a long bike journey unless im making steady progress and doing atleast 70-80mph on the motorway, and preferably towards the 90mph if conditions and traffic conditions allow.

I know the one! :) like a mate who I took to pick up his brand new Caterham which took 30 mins longer to get home because it was still being run in

Haha yeah!

Only a fully run in 125 is worse. They can do 60mph, but boy do they make you pay. You feel mean for doing it, as its screaming like mad n just doesnt feel happy. 50mph is much more comfortable.

Ahh alright for a local blat then but nothing too much

Yeah. Occasional overtake taking it up to 60mph (with about 3 miles room and hoping the guy your overtaking doesnt touch the accelerator, at all) but other than that i never bothered.

They can be fun though. You can reach the limits of the suspension n such in the corners. Which is fun.

I cant reach the limits of my current bike. I end up goin too bloody quick n things like 'never go faster than you can see' come into play on the road.

Good luck to the Mrs Gaza boy. At the end of the day you have to be really ****e to fail a CBT but its great experience for a novice and I hope she enjoys it and gets a taste for whats to come

I like Fubars suggestion of a training ride home but it is a long way on a 125 and even longer if its her first time out. It will literally take you all day with plenty of stops and that's weather dependant too.

I think chucking it in the back of a van is the best option and getting home in plenty of time to allow a little local ride out.

Havnt been out on mine for over 2 weeks. If it doesn't chuck it down I will get out for quick a ride later.

It's feckin raining

I have some roofing repairs to do here and it's not raining yet, but its threatening.

And the roof I have to work on is wet from yesterday still.

I've just hung out some washing so that's bound to set off the rain.
