Was it a diesel?

In reference to a diesel bike check out this crazy critter in Northern Ireland and what hes done on a self made diesel bike! He makes them to order too. They did a over 50000 mile ride on it 103mpg average where recorded. Look at route section of site for NI-Australia.

http://www.suckindiesel.com/

Also this Dutch company (Track) makes diesel bikes that are not overly bad if your into that sort of thing. I think they use a 0.8l smart diesel engine.

The guys from the sucking diesel site seemed to have a life changing experience, it looked awesome and how much fun would it be to do a ride like that?

I really fancy the notion of a diesel powered bike but I'm not so sure about the CVT transmission, it would be just like a really big scooter I suppose. I reckon I could get used to it what do you think Fubar?

Check out the new Honda cross thingy and VFR with the dual clutch auto system I have heard some good reviews on it from die hard bikers who thought it was the most ridiculous idea in the world. I would love to do a trip like that tbh the price of petrol EU wide now adds a massive amount to any trip as if going just in EU its expensive if going further you have to travel threw it. Diesel would be ideal for a trip like these. Check out the Dutch company.

I've heard of a few people putting diesels into Royal Enfield with obscene MPG figured received. No sporting pretences mind!

@Superdan: I don't think the S50s are all that common. I thought it was the coolest thing at 16, especially as it was a manual and a "proper" bike when compared to the twist n go hair dryers. Its quite a hoot to ride now post modifications.

I still think MZs are cracking looking bikes and they do more for me than most motorbikes.

Today I finally finished finalising my long negotiations for a brand new bike order............

Deposit paid and bike now mine when I bring my trade in and clear the balance. What can replace the ZZR1400 pumping out 220bhp I hear you ask>?>?>?>?>?

Introducing the long time favourite of mine

2012 Kawasaki Z1000ZX ABS with FREE tourer upgrade deal!

She is in stock right now waiting to be registered its Candy Lime Green/Black and has the matching luggage and additionally I have ordered the front fender protection kit and nose cone protection kit :D oh and tank pad/knee pads. Trade in price for the current bike was reasonable and was expecting them to offer less to start with. When I get the time to ride over and collect it from dealers in England I will have my new sports tourer all shiny new out of the box. My first and last ever brand new bike will sit well beside my first and last ever brand new car. Wishing Rally Green was an option now for the VRS when I ordered :(

Nice one looks a minter, one hell of a first bike too popular mods will inc things like arrow indicators some like them more than stock some like to keep bike as original as possible. Crash bungs/bobbins/frame protectors depending what you like to call them can save a lot of damage and are pretty cheap handy if you loose footing and set bike on its side at lights and can drastically limit damage on proper "off's". Have you just passed test, if so was it DAS or are you under the restriction?

Actually i've yet to do it, as it's all fully booked up here at the moment. But doing DAS late August.

I'm too old to bother with the restriction :D

Hi. Ive had several bikes over the years. Last one I had was a BMW K1300s. 0-62 2.9 sec top end 176mph. One of my fav bikes was a Kawasaki S3A. 400 triple.

I currently own an Octavia vrs diesel. Lovely car all in black with heated leather seats. As much as I love this car I'm in the prosess of changing it for a new Fabia vrs tsi with all the extras. I'm hoping its a good move?

Cheers Colin

Never had a shot on a K1300s or any bmw for that matter always a little beyond my price range and rivals been more appealing to me anyway but new S1000RR and newer again S1000RR was a sneaky wee bike that appeared to try and take crown off my current bike for most powerful and fastest production bike. 2012 ZZR1400 they seem to think has seen it off with boring it out almost making it a 1500 and lots of new toys (but weight is MEGA heavy now) so I think it would still be down to the conditions and rider.

I went from Mk1 Fabia VRS remapped to a Mk2 FL Octavia VRS diesel because I was not a big fan of the new Fabia VRS and was gutted no diesel option :( and then I was not a big fan of the shape. That said as I understand it, its an amazing car for a 1.4. In all black as well for the fabia???? could look aggressive :D

Sweet Fubar, really sweet, I am envious! :giggle:

Hi Fubar, The new Fabia is going to be Green body with black roof. I like the Skoda range because i've driven skodas now for 10 years and never had one problem with any of them. Its the reliability that is appealing to me. I'm not particulary struck on the looks but the practicality of the brand is atractive . The TSI engine is the attraction for me with my latest purchase.

Hello All,

Noticed this thread starting to slow so thought I'd finally stop being lazy and post a piccy of the ZZR600.

It's a 2001 E7 with 43k on the clock.. got a givi monokey rack, Baxlux leather tank bag, stainless steel headers, alarm/immob, tinted double bubble and scottoiler

A great first bike, really good on fuel (last ride did 130 miles to £14) easy to ride and seriously quick when you need the power!

Mine is on the left, my friends E3 is on the right, ZZR FRIENDS :giggle:

I am glad you like it :D brings back memories of my ZZR600 E7. I was visiting a Kawasaki dealers the other weekend to have a look at the Z1000SX just after I ordered mine in the UK and saw in their collection some awesome bikes inc 2 ZZR600's (OLD ONES) I was shocked at the size of them I remembered it being much bigger so cool to see though. What are you keeping in the glove box :D its only tiny but its one of the few bikes to have one, I used to keep my little bottle of mukoff visor cleaner in there and a cloth for it.

My Street Triple bought to replace a BMW R1200GS. About ten times more fun!!
