I did like my GSXR I nearly bought a new blade as I had never owned a Honda, instead of the sensible option I went with in the end. what track is that pic doesn't give enough away. I used MSV for track days at Cadwell with my Gixxer 1000 nothing like a blistered hoop or 2 :D

I think that one is the melbourne loop at Donington (there is an apex just out of shot i promise you  )

Cadwell is a firm favourite though

Lived in Lincolnshire at the time so was dead handy for me was about 25 min away loved it. Last bike would have been interesting to track bit long for the bends and not the easiest to flick over from side to side but did well for the size getting the power down out of bends would have made a great pic. For all the times I used to pass Donington I have never been in at all!

"the wall" ??

Its a motor bike event that meets at Drayton manor, the wall being a memorial wall for war heroes. I think it is help for heroes, but i may be wrong. I went two years ago, 15,000 attended. I have never seen so many bikes in one place! They do a ride from dm to the wall, roads are closed off and its police supported but its an amazing site, and sound. Search rttw and its on the net

Sounds amazing would be a great site you got a camera for bike or helmet? I shall not be attending as I live in the Netherlands unfortunately.

Typically i am working the British touring car event so can't make it this year. There will be footage on youtube as always

hi all, new to the forum as just picked up an octave vrs but my first love has always been bikes.

Hi Diveslob welcome to Skoda ownership and Briskoda. Gutted to hear your in for repairs, any estimate when you will be ready for collection? I had an accident (see post #70, page 4) last year tib/fib multi compound on a touring holiday nasty stuff. I was discharged well to early 2.5 days after accident make sure you take your time and don't end up like me. Out of interest are these your first breaks and more importantly of course how was the bike??????

Me the morning after surgery in a foreign land and managing to get some picturage taken so I expect some snaps from you :p

Only just spotted this thread.

Passed my bike test a couple of months before the car test back in '81, and have had a few...

Had (in no particular order though vaguely chronological):

Honda Melody Mini, Peugeot 104, BSA Bantam D7, Honda CB100N, Honda CB250N-DX, Yamaha XS400SE, Yamaha RD250LC (Stan Stephens), BMW R80ST, BMW K75C + Squire ST2 chair, Yamaha TDR250, Suzuki GT250, Suzuki RGV250 Wolf, BMW R1150R, BMW F650 Funduro, BMW K100RS, Harley Davidson XLH1200, Suzuki GSX1300R

Have (in no particular order though vaguely chronological):

BMW R65RS, BMW R80RT + Squire trailer, Triumph Tiger 1050.

Strangely I thought I'd had more than that. If any more come to mind I'll add them in later,

Tiger took me and my lad to Naples and back last summer so has a special place in my affection. Hayabusa took me to the edge of my senses so will never be forgotten, and allowed me more conversations with gentlemen of the law than all my other bikes and cars put together.

Thats an impressive bike career I am largely jealous of you, bar the Busa I just traded in a ZZR1400 and loved every inch of it. If you look back in the thread not long ago I posted a link to http://www.suckindiesel.com/ as a tourer and a Tiger man you should find it an awesome read. Naples must have been an epic ride some fantastic roads especially once you break into Italy around the Alps and what better a bike to cut through the waist deep rubbish on the streets of Naples :D

With a list of bikes so long and possibly not complete I think some pictures are in order young man!

hello mate, been in hospital for 8 days so far having my leg pinned and plated hopefully this Thursday. They've not started yet as the swelling has been too bad.......I actually took my foot all the way round the wrong way so had to have it reseated in a field by the paramedics before they could split it and load me into the air ambulance. first time I've had an off like this but have a good selection of injuries built up over the years including a pinned and plated neck, lol.

I'll have to have a read through that when I'm next sat on a train.

Alps were indeed magnificent and I just loved all of Italy. My cousin lives in the hills above Amalfi, so we got down there and rode about on the Amalfi coast roads.

Only problem on that trip was the 42 degree heat and getting escorted out of Paris by the police for some infringement or other. oops.

Ah, Young man... I like that ;-)

Not got digital photos for many of those (possibly only the Harley, R1150R, Busa and Tiger). I've got prints around for a few of the others (I've just found photos of the 104, LC, K, R-RS, XS but will need to plug in the scanner)

I'll get a few pics up over the next few days once Photobucket stops messing me about. They might even include the Z750 that I forgot about...

Sounds like a real nasty one! I was lucky in that my boots and leathers were just enough to save leg I did however puncture the paramedics inflatable splint with some pokey out bones, oh how we laughed lol not really though bahhhh

Just swapped my Yamaha TDM900/A for a KTM 990SMT.

It's totally bonkers, and I love it.

I collect my "new" bike next week - an immaculate 2009 Honda VFR 800 ABS with just over 1000 miles on the clock and one owner!

1st Bike was an Aprilia RS50 race-replica - fully tuned; 9,000 revs at 64mph in 6th with a tail wind. :) Not bad from a 50cc 2stroke!

You would have loved my old gsxr1000 109mph in 1st gear and the last bike zzr1400 derestricted power commander etc went through limiter speed of 186mph in 5th with another cog to go, new bike limited to 165mph :(

Woah - hope you're ok and wishing you a quick recovery.

Interested to hear how you get on with that, as a TDM owner the SMT is definitly on the list of potential replacements when I ever change.

The TDM did me well for 2500miles around Europe last month though. Still got tonnes of GoPro footage to work my way through

Ah, that was a photo from 2000 when I was selling it - it was a 97 bike that I bought new from Cooper Reading. The photo was in front of a neighbour's white garage door as MCN charged so much per word for the ad that I used paintshop pro to write a load of words on the garage door :-)

Vid is awesome I have a GoPro HD Hero2 (motorsport edition) at mo, vid from it when I first tested it out on helmet below keep the vids coming please share them in here when you have more up. What software do you use to edit? Oh and where are you mounting it helmet was for a test really just to see what a boxy GoPro is like for wind resistance and in vid I reached max speed I could with it on was impressed it stayed on with the small 3M pad but was going to rip head off at 160mph thinking forward on tank but that restricts tank bag options ......

Play in 1080p for best (but cut and converted so some quality has been lost)

should take you to some photos .......

Cheers for link am dead jealous of the helicopter mountain roads in the back of a van sucked big time. Are you planning to get back on 2 wheels ok?

lol genius I would not have thought of that wish I had saved some money that way in the past!

Lovely looking TDR gyp, always fancied one of them. Shame they never did a twin headlamp version like the 125 though whcih I think looks fantastic.

I've got a few vids of previous trips on youtube, still got about 100GB to wade through from this years alps trip though :D

http://www.youtube.com/user/crgray73

I've got one of the sticky pads mounted on the top of my helmet, another on the back of a pannier, and use the suction cup on the side of the faring. I do notice the drag on my helmet at speeds but it's not an issue unless I'm spending a few hours on a motorway. I was initially a bit wary about the suction cup but it's incredibly strong, I can lift my fully loaded top box with it! Recently added the wifi backpack and remote which is really useful, and for touring have a spare battery and charger in my tank bag. The wifi bacpack battery's good for 5 or 6 hours, and I can charge the remote battery in use, so I can pretty much film all day. Of course that means I now carry a laptop and USB hard drive, plus a 12V charger for the laptop...this trip my tank bag was only used for electronics :D

For editing I use Cyberlink PowerDirector, very easy to use and you can get a fully functional demo version from thier website, though it watermarks any videos you produce. If you like it it's cheaper on Amazon than through Cyberlink though
