Passenger Door Window Electric Switch

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just recently the passenger door window electric switch is really difficult to pull back to put the window back up. I have to use the drivers door switch.

It appears to be sticky or may just be faulty!

If it needs replacing, how easy is this job?

Cheers

If it's just the switch, then really easy... takes literally 1 minute to replace.

Get a can of contact / switch cleaner (Maplin / a.n.other supply store) and squirt it into the switch. Might fix it.

Worst case is it doesn't work and you have to replace the switch anyway.

how do you replace the switch?

does it pull out or do you have to remove the door card?

When you say it's really easy, what needs doing? Please can you supply any quick notes on how to change it?

Many thanks

It's only clipped in. No need to remove the doorcard or anything - You can just change the switch on its own

If you have a trim removal tool, it makes it much easier, otherwise I've found a larger flat bladed screwdriver covered in electrical tape to prevent scratches.

The below video is for the back door but the front is clipped in exactly the same, obviously with the connector for the switch underneath.

Top stuff guys - I'll give this a go at the weekend.

Thanks for this info, it's much appreciated
