4x4 Turbo - Sleeper-ish :o)

Featured Replies

Fitting TIP (for me, anyway) is better as a two man job. One at the top wriggling the pipe and the other underneath guiding it on to the turbo.

I will be selling the R-Tec DV cheap cheap cheap i have currently fitted if anybodys after one?.. Only done about 1500 miles.

Cheers Craig...

Fancy plugs are a waste of dosh fella, OEM are just fine, even for stage 3/4.

You should've fitted an oil catch can instead of replacing the 'Y' breather pipe.

Hi All,

Well this weekend i decided to fit the new TIP and what a bugger of a job that is!! Had to cut about 20mm of the new pipe at the turbo end to get to fit! but its all on now.

I do have one question:

Now i have the new TIP the turbo spool up sounds much louder! you can hear the turbo wine clear as day now... Is this right? im guessing as the OEM pipe is metal at the bottom this would have stoped the sound coming through as much as a silicone hose??... Car runs as it did before so hoping this is right.

You wont need to worry its only going Stage 2 so there not as fast as the 2wd ;-)

Heavy 4x4 but still only 2wd for 99% of the time ;-)

To be honest, the T.I.P wont make any difference at all, they can sometimes make pick up worse, the OEM pipe looks like a restriction, as it channels the air and causes more disturbance on entry, this actually helps spool as it allows the forced air to 'bite' onto the blades better..... Many just see it as another bit of under bonnet bling though...

Hello All,

O.K so i have just spoke with JS and got my car booked in for 13th Sept for the stage 2 map!!...cant wait.

Not long now matey, you'll be terrorising all sorts of unsuspecting expensive car owners. Ha ha.

Hi,

I have a JS stage 1 remap with green panel filter and forge dv008 on my octy 1.8t 4x4. I would be interested to see your dyno print out.

Best wishes,

J

Hi All,

Just got back from Jabba Sport! It's been a good trip!.

Pleased with the outcome and car feels like a different machine! Very impressed.

She made 221bhp / 267 lbs foot.

Slightly low on the hp figure but a sized actuator didn't help which I will replace, but the torque figure is most impressive!

Will post the graphs tomorrow as I'm on the iPhone.

Thanks to all guys n gals @ Jabba Sport! Awsome!

Cheers Craig

Is that at the wheels?

Don't forget that if you ever need to replace the coil packs to go for the 2.0t mk6 ones :D

Cheers Craig...

ha ha did you like the packaging lol

that will be the best mod you have done and will do ;-)

can you give us a buzz once you have fitted it i wanna hear the giggle lol

thats a fun piece of kit, especially cornering in the wet with the clog down............. sideways

What does the blue Haldex do?? Might sound like a daft question.

What does the blue Haldex do?? Might sound like a daft question.

What it does is changes the characteristics of the Haldex, in simple terms, it normally waits for a difference in wheel rotation from front to rear before engaging the rear wheels. The Haldex with PREX listens to the rate of throttle depression and engages the Haldex sooner with more torque transfer to the rear that the standard Haldex software

Ah, pretty cool bit of kit.
