Has anyone been given a delivery date for the Blackline Octavia VRS?

Featured Replies

Couldn't quite believe it today when I received a call from Simpson Skoda @ Preston.

I only ordered my BL last Friday and its being delivered tomorrow! When he looked on the system Friday prior to the order he said it had just been finished and was in Germany awaiting someone to buy it.

Got to go in tomorrow to sign some paperwork and they're going to PDI it, register & fit my private plate ready for collection Tuesday.

Top service from them :)

Christ mate. I bet your a riot at party's. I'm closer to 40 than 30 and don't appreciate being referred to as a kid, simply because I'm looking forward to getting my Blackline. In my opinion, kids d

Thanks for all the info guys. The wife likes the black on black so I guess that's all that matters. White looked too much like a van as an estate and blue a bit too subaru. That said, I think the colour that works the best all round is blue. I am awaiting the hearse comments lol!.

apparently a wheel bearing giving dodgy signals to the ABS sensor. all fixed and I'm off to collect it in a minute

Good news! Enjoy!

Black with black looks good. I like the blue but also think it's too Subaru like in colour.

Not keen on white cars.

So it's black for me and looks good

I had an SE plus.... know which I'd rather have, even without the bluetooth :giggle: They'd have to fit the MFSW to the manuals too, which would be good for changing the track/volume etc, tho blue tooth and hands free's not much use to me 'cause I've got no mates!

You do realise that you can unlock Bluetooth on the HUD and for £20 odd fit the VW official MIC loom and MIC which takes about 30 -45 mins. Once done you'll have hands free dialing phone book syncing and Bluetooth audio streaming.

I did this on my DSG Hatch Blackline. Details on doing this are in this forum by Welsh_kai_boy here:

Picked up mine today; made up with the car but somewhat disappointed having gotten it home that there are a few things wrong with it from the factory (things not done properly at the factory and a couple of PDI things missed). Not the end of the world but my expectations of Skoda were a bit higher.

One question....is it possible to get the Amundsen + to lower radio/media volume when making navigation announcements? Bit carp if not!

Yep. Hit the nav button, then setup button. Can adjust the volume from there.

Mine does it..How loud is the volume of musoic you were listening too. If it was quiet it doesn't seem to lower it much when the sat nav comes on in mine The volume control for the radio/music works on the sat nav volume too-Have you tried using the volume control when the sat nav is giving directions to change it? Easier that messing about with the menu and you can change it when ever you want on the go very easily

Had radio on perhaps 8 or 10, just mucking about with the car setting a destination whilst stationary. When the nav woman talked it didnt seem to lower the radio volume at all. Also can the same be done for the PDC?

Also my service indicator is just showing dashes, no mileage or days.....is this normal with a car with about 25 miles on the clock? What are they usually set up for 1 year 10k?

Out of the factory they are set on variable. If it needs to go to fixed I think you can do it yourself via the maxidot. I'm on the fixed plan as I had the finance package that gave me 3 years free servicing but the dealer didn't reset it during the PDI to fixed, but I'm not bothered as not even me will forget to ring them at the beginning of October for it's 1st free fixed one!

I believe if you set it to fixed yourself you can't change it back to variable without a VCDS thingy or getting te dealer to do it. Are you on the fixed interval servicing??

PDC? what's that- sorry to be thick as I'm not very good on TLI's..... I've found I have to play with the sat nav volume depending on how fast I'm going and how loud I've got the music, but as long as I use teh volume knob while she's speaking it's quick to do and you get the instant result too. Not sure if you can set how much it turns the back ground music down by when the sat nave comes on via the menu though

Dont know, my service display just shows dashes for the mileage and days as explained above. Ive seen that it can take a few miles for the info to show here but not sure how true that is. Did ask the dealership to set it up for fixed when PDId.

I think its a bit poor if the volume cant be set to reduce when annoucements are made...guess its one thing that sets it apart from the columbus....makes up for it with DAB and easy to sort Bluetooth though! PDC is park distance control...parking sensor bleeps

With you now....nearly!

The sound on mine does turn down when I stick it in reverse, so might be the PDC and Sat Nav are linked. could try the same thing, i.e. stick it in reverse and when it beeps at you see what effect the normal radio volume control has?

TBH I didn't look at the service section on mine in the maxidot until it was a couple of months old when I found it was still set to variable so I recon yours is still on variable while it works out what type of driving your doing, so I recon the dealer forgot to change it same as they did with mine. No big deal though....

Cheers littleade will take a look.

Cars sadly going to have to go in to have a few things put right under warranty (not particularly good given its literally hours old) will get the service indicator sorted then if needs be.

What issues have you got-should these have been spotted by the dealer, if so who was it?

I had what I thought to be a scratch on the instument glass which was only visible when the light was coming from behind, but it turned out to be a streak of adhesive which the dealer got off while I waited with a bit of solvent. other than that mine was good to go

At least with ecu on variable you get oil temp gauge on mfd. Ill still be taking mine 10000 miles or 1 year no matter what maxidot says.

IMT might take you up on your help to get my Bluetooth going, is it easy enough?

A mechanic mate is going to buy the mic and loom trade for me and help fit it but be good to have audio streaming etc

Does the oil temp display get turned off if you set to fixed then?

cheers

Yes on a fixed you lose oil temp. My blackline origonaly didnt have it but my dads did so I asked dealer to change it to disply it. Why skoda dont still disply it on fixed dont know. But I understand on a fixed the car doesnt need to kniw oil temp.

Cheers for that Matty- that's a real nugget!

I'll leave mine on variable then as I use the oil temp to tell me when I can stretch her legs as the temp gauge gets to normal before the oil gets up to temp. Hope the dealer doesn't change it when it has it's 1st fixed service tho!

Jusy say when you take it for service and they will hopefully leave it most dealers want to keep theyre customers happy.

My Blackline is on fixed servicing and still has the oil temp display in maxidot. The oil does have to get to a certain temperature before it shows on them though. ;)

Going back to the sound issue, I've found that you can set a volume for the Nav, but it seems that this will always be the volume for the Nav, regardless of what your radio volume is.

It doesn't seem to turn down the radio volume when the Nav gives an instruction, she just seems to try and talk over the top of it, so if you've got the radio on 8 and the nav on 6, you don't hear the instructions.

I'm also struggling to find a way of putting exactly where you are "now" into the nav as a stored destination.

Im with you there the lack of sound reduction when the unit is giving navigation commands does seem to be rather an oversight, im hoping its something they might resolve with a firmware update as the unit is no doubt capable of doing it.

Does lower the volume for the parking sensors though so thats good.

Loving the car, going back for a couple of v minor warranty fixes (some of the "faults" i thought it had werent faults as it turns out haha)

Sound quality of the stereo system is fantasic compared to the Fabia; probably better than the last Mk6 Golf I had too; actually very impressed with how solid the thing feels too
