Has anyone been given a delivery date for the Blackline Octavia VRS?

Featured Replies

went to my local Skoda dealer this evening, they said you can not buy a new Octavia now as they are all gone (current mk2). BUT they had a white Blackline hatch with 1500 miles on clock for £17,295, I'm so close to putting a deposit on it, is this a good deal? comes with 3 years free servicing etc.. need to act fast before it is advertised on net!

Christ mate. I bet your a riot at party's. I'm closer to 40 than 30 and don't appreciate being referred to as a kid, simply because I'm looking forward to getting my Blackline. In my opinion, kids d

Just get it bought. They won't knock anything off as they know they will sell it. Play hardball, make a lower offer. If they accept - bonus.

Hi Mark,

New ones were around 18k. Your problem is as you've found out there's no more left-the last few were put on sale last Thursday, I'm told they were estates but they were snapped up quickly. My dealer sild his for what he paid for it, though it had less miles. If you look at the skoda website I'm sure you'll find other vRS's that are about the same price as this but older/petrol. Because therr's no more your in a less strong position. If u want a vRS then you'll struggle to beat this offer I think, but I'd make sure you get the free servicing in writing as my understanding is this only applied to the 1st owner if they took out finance

The 3 years free servicing goes with the car even if sold as I had this confirmed by Skoda UK. The reason I found this out is because I may have to sell my black Blackline hatch as I lost my job just before the new year (nice timing I know :( ). I paid off the finance after one payment and own the car outright, so at least that's one good thing as I can feel the mortgage payments looming! I'll offer it here first before going the usual selling routes as I would rather a forum member bought it.

I've just noticed the time! You can tell I don't have to go to work tomorrow.

Sorry to hear your news RitchieT - keep positive and am sure you will find something soon.

Cheers.

Cheers BA, I'll find something, it's not as bad down here as alot of other places.

well, looks like I'll be back in an Octavia vRS very soon, just paid a deposit on it! as a bonus I just sold my old Audi to someone at work for a decent price so happy days :)

Wahoo!

Well done buddy. Enjoy your new Blackline.

as Mr Potter would say, "Mischief Managed !"

ordered a blue estate, and because it's in the country it should be on my driveway before the end of the month.

New Blackline sitting in the Aberdeen showroom - blue estate DSG. Called me about it but I have already purchased a white one. Just thought I would give you a heads up in case someone is out there looking for one.

well I have to wait until Tuesday to pick my Blackline up, still can't believe how lucky I was to find one used! it's only 2 and have months old so as good as new :). I sold my old car private and got £800 more than the trade in was going to be so happy days!

what I don't get is there are a few Octavia vRS's on the forecoart and some are £21!! fair enough they are estate/DSG combo cars but even so almost £4k more than mine and they are older too with more miles..

Mark.

when I ordered mine on Thursday I wad told there were "plenty" left in both blue and black.

incidentally, dealer from last week worked the "list" price out by adding the OTR costs to the pre VAT price =19,112.

dealer from this week got his list price by taking the VAT off the full book price which came to 18,995

my dealer lied to me then, he said you can't buy a new octavia as they were all gone. should of gone to another dealer as I wanted a brand new blue one but never mind, still happy!

Have just registered on here as went to my local skoda dealer ( Sparshatts of Botley) today and have ordered a candy white Octavia Estate vrs blackline and been told I should be recieving it by the end of the month at the latest. Happy days.

maybe it's just the estates that are left then? but my dealer still said there were no Octavias left!

There's no doubt that there are no new Octavias left if you include the full range, however we know there is a very restricted number of limited edition Octavias still available. Most Octavia buyers won't want a vrs.

Your dealer may also have steered you towards the car that they want to sell you.

The MK2 hatch is now dead and buried, production stopped just before christmas so production of the MK3 hatch could begin. Only new hatch cars will be Skoda stock but doubt there are any left in the UK now.

Skoda made an additional 100 Blackline estates and these were released for allocation a couple of weeks ago, some manual some DSG. I purchased a white DSG two weeks ago and was told at the time there were only 48 cars left; they were only brought into circulation a couple of days earlier. There was only one other white DSG too. At the moment I believe you can still factory order an estate of any variant though the 1.8TSi has now been axed.

If you can secure a Blackline though i think you'd be mad to factory order a car, Blackline gave me pretty much what I wanted (really just wanted a CR DSG in white, black wheels with rear PDC) and saved me 2k in the process.

Two other good things....I tend to go a bit silly with options if left to my own devices Blackline comes as it is so sorted that problem. I wouldnt have chosen Nav and leather myself due to cost of adding these to a factory order so that was an additional bonus. Am disappointed it doesnt come with MDI, curtain airbags and light assistant but they are all things I can live without.

Also it was already built and waiting on a ship in Germany so only waiting a week or two for it rather than several months for a factory order.

Have skoda officaly said the tottal number of blacklines they are producing? Or is it just a geussing game of when theyll stop making them. Was slightly gilutted when found out the exclusability was decressing. But was allso happy because I still got two grands of extras free with no vat.

Looks like 600, original 500 plus an additional 100 estates. In fairness the only exclusive thing about it is the Amundsen + nav with DAB but that would be easily retrofitted if youre so enclined.

Im surprised that Skoda didnt offer this unit before as an extra; personally I think it beats the Columbus given that it is DAB and Bluetooth capable and there is no HDD failure to worry about down the line

was told on Thursday you can still order normal estates because the new bodyshape is not out till the summer.

MDI is not an issue, 1 x 32 gb SD card and you should have access to all the tunes you need.

Agree on the air bags, safety should not be excluded... It made me think twice.

What is light assist?

Auto lights, wipers and dipping mirror. Wipers not so bothered about but lights and dipping mirror v handy; oncw you've had a car with them seems v backwards to not have them.

If you have them one cool thing you can apparently do is set it up to close your windows and sunroof when it senses rain. Also the coming/leaving home function ia quite nice.

Something quite interesting....you seem to be able to configure a number of additional settings on an Octavia with the maxidot computer than you can on a VW Golf, for example setting the alarm chirp and turning the DRLs on and off.

Yeah u can do a lot via maxi dot, but it's mostly pointless, nice to have control of these things, I tend to fiddle about then back to default.

At the risk of opening a can of worms do 32Gb SD cards (fully) work in the Amundsen? I retrofitted MDI because they don't work fully in the Bolero in my 2010 VRS. You can load 32Gb of music onto the SD card but you can't see it all on the Bolero.

I've got a 32Gb SD Card in mine and it works fine. Not sure I'm ever likely to fill it with music though.
