I hope it will stop some of the items that I put in my door pocket from sliding back and fore

Plus I think it looks quite good

Nice LEDs.

So when can i bring mine round for you to do?!? ;):D

Wow! That's very in depth! I was just going to get a strip of LEDs and tape them to the bottom of the door card.

What other lighting modifications have you done to your fabia?

Nice job.

You should be asking what lighting modifications has he NOT done! Lol. Just about everything has been changed.

This should be stickied!

Thanks for the comments guys

I thought a detailed write up might be helpful to some of you

As a by product they also act as foot well lights

At least until you open the door !

As kiddy1 pointed out its easier to list what I haven't done. I love LEDs there are now over 300 individual LEDs on the car, but a slightly out dated listing can be found here

The LED strips can be bought on Ebay for about a tenner, but the ones that I used cost £20 off www.ultraleds.co.uk but that gets you a full metre length.

Thank god, the bugger was pulling the wires earlier when I was trying to solder them LOL

I think the S3 would most probably have all the gadgets that you need Garry, hope to see it in the future

Thanks for the comment Charlie, cheers mate

Watch this space LOL

You'll be sharing the track with it if you're doing Combe in April

And if Jason will let me on...

and you of all people should know there's never enough gadgets.

I want a reverse camera and more lights in mine but trying to keep it OE.

I wish you lived down the road from me Karl!

Brilliant guide!

Joe

Feel the urge to do something similar when upgrading speakers and sealing leaky door. No lights in my door as standard but I'd be putting speaker wire through anyway. Could never figure out the right wire at the BCU to wire up to. Suspect all the BCU does is provide a switched earth.

If you can't find the correct wires just use the ones from the interior light

Brown/Yellow is the Earth

Red/Black is the Positive

I can't seem to get your current lighting mods to work mate.

Could you possibly PM me the services you offer such as the home coming lights or 5 light brake kit :)

  • Author

No problem mate will try and help, its a fairly basic mod so there is not much to go wrong.

You have PM

The only kit I do is the coming home lights - basically a number of members fall a bit sort on the soldering front lol , so I decided to help out !

5 light brake is not a kit as such it is an easy mod just using a couple of diodes ( will do a write up in the future )

Karl

Thanks for the write up. A nice job well explained. Much appreciated.

Where abouts are you located Karl?
