  • Enjoyed today, will give myself a push to get on track next time. I should of hopefully managed to get a picture of everyone. First time shooting any moving vehicles so could do with some improvemen

  • Why do we all do these events ? For the most part it's the chance to get together with other like minded Skoda fans. And also the chance to explore the speed thrill and handling of your chosen ride. W

I didn't want to be rude.

After all, you never turned up to Brisky How Fast? 2 despite organising it. :D

um....er....uh....something came up!

Oh yes, Mr Pasty too! :p

Get your act together people! :D Looks like i have one more tracker just sorting out payment now.

and this IS staying non Skoda - You could never underestimate my commitment to a Skoda only session!

Who are you again?? ;)

I need to look into getting a different car if it's going to be non Skoda. ;)

I'll drop you a PM Jay

I'll add that if anyone does want to take a passenger out but wants to save themselves a fiver there is a way around it!

Drivers can be passengers at other times througout the day for free.

As such if you take your passenger along to a drivers briefing (every half an hour throughout the day) they will get a drivers wrist band at the end.

They can then use that to be an FOC passenger.

every little helps....

Im confused, does this mean its open to people who cant take a skoda on track :giggle:

You're barred! :D

Sorry everyone I'm afraid the last weekend in April has become double booked. Therefore I will be unable to make it.

Could you please take me off the clubstand.

I'll ask my daughters boyfriend if he wants the ticket as he like's high performance cars and Combe isn't too far from us.

I see you were #1 on the list. Will need to find a replacement or I suppose a refund isn't an issue really.

On the fence for this. Likely to be a stand, might take it out on track... Will speak at the JKM RR day :)

Get off the fence and DO IT, I did my first track day today, it was incredible, my adrenalin was pumping, it was a great buzz.

Besides which, it's a 15 minute taster session rather than a full track day.

There is no better way to see if you like it than try a short session surrounded by known Brikoda ssensible drivers rather than joe public.

No brainer IMO.

Seriously though to anyone who wants to come, that hasn't been on before, it's a really good way to pop your track cherry. Most of the cars are of a similar power, which helps as you shouldn't get caught out by something rapidly appearing in your rear view mirror (oh wait......maybe one or two ;))

I always feel comfortable when out on track with the Brisky folk, we are all usually very well behaved!

Still uncertain about this having never been on a track before. I think more concerned about my abilities, or rather lack of and not wishing to spoil it for anyone else.

If I wanted to do this, what do I need?

I assume a helmet

Insurance? If my insurer won't cover this is there anyone in particular I should approach

Anything else?

It was great, everybody was well behaved, only one black flag for a Scooby who's passenger had a stop watch!

Jerry, just book on, you will love it.

Do you have an ability to drive? Well, that's good enough. Assuming you have on occasion driven in a brisk fashion on the open road, it will be no different, only its a lot wider for when things potentially go awry.

You do need a helmet. They can be hired from the circuit, but I also have a spare XXL going spare, which no one has thus far booked from me :D

Covered arms and legs, and just go on track knowing what you learn from the driver briefing (main one being keep to the left to let others through) and just HAVE FUN!

Open to non skoda yet?

Just do it, if captain slow here can, then anyone can.

I'm not a track day newbie :) Will never forget Brunters in 2004 :D

I'm just so busy with work, I don't know whether I'll enjoy this as much as a I should (I'm antisocial at the moment with stressful work :p)

I'm hoping the JKM RR day will put me in the mood :D

Jerry,

My first track outing ever was one of these sessions at Combe. It is a fantastic opportunity to get some experience of track time

I have been several years on the trot both spring and summer action days, I have once braved a non-briskoda session and that was enough to realise how well behaved those from your own forum are.

As Jason has said, no more or less worrying than a brisk b-road blast but with fewer dry stone walls and sheep.

A mixed field of skodas, all with different power, but a mutual respect for each other and an understanding that it isn't the F1 final, or an LA street race

Quick bump as gone a bit quiet in this thread. ;)

Circular email needed. (IMO)

People who only look at model specific sections are generally not aware of events like this.

It's the people who use the forum more and look around that you tend to see signed up.

There have been threads created in the different model sections in the past with a link to the event that's being promoted. Maybe something like that if an e-mail circular doesn't happen.
