  • Can't see that anyone has posted this yet, so though I'd pop it up. New video out today.  I noticed I was the second view.   Have to say, it looks good.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WbzoVrIZ

  • Can you not take this to a new thread. I'm subscribed on here for mkiii vrs updates. Not the age old argument of diesel vs petrol. Christ you'll be slagging off macs and pc's next :(

  • I will never understand those that defend their own car make by slagging other makes off. OK, if you've had a particularly bad experience with a certain car make, tell the story, etc. but don't sugge

Totally with you TudorM

I'd want it to be whisper-quiet when cruising but emit a nice growl when booting it. Total silence all the time would be too boring for me.

Spot on. Taking it easy, fairly quiet. Giving it some beans a bit of drama would be nice.

I am sure a few mods would sort it, though I wonder how much of a problem the dodgy twin exhausts will cause for modding.

Why would it cause an issue? You'll probably find the likes of Milltek etc utilising the right hand exhaust finisher with their systems so better than standard. :)

My new car is being used as miltek development car so will let you know :)

Agree with the used octy price but great news for you :) lol

Each to their own on the merc front, I shop differently for cars and premium brand high priced cars at cheaper prices don't tip the scales for me.

34k premium brand car for 23k at 6months old doesn't tempt me at all, that would only be relevant to me if I loved the car to start with

I picked my current car on everything but the brand and accociated value even tho it was similar to discount you give on the merc lol

Each to their own tho mate

Fair shout mate of course you'd have to like Mercs for the above scenario to be even remotely appealing and appreciate they're not loved by all. I dont think the new vRS is necessarily bad value for money, if I could get out of mine and get 10% or so off the new one I could justify the change; I didnt think it was a big ask of my local dealer but they couldnt oblige...unsure at this point if i'd buy another from them or look elsewhere.

Dont know, just random thoughts.  :giggle:

Wont it be much more expensive too.

well if they don't utilise both sides its a massively lost opportunity IMO!

Mines a diesel though so only on one side anyway but will see if they ask

I would have thought they would do a dual, one either side as it will match the TSi unit they will do

@kenny, that'd be nice, make it a proper real dual exhaust, if the manufacturer didn't bother... Show 'em how it's done! :)

Maybe the guy generating the spec of the car ' Just forgot' to add cruise to the list as he was having a very bad day :D

"Guy"?!?!! Erm we all know it's the female secretaries in Škoda's marketing department that run all of SUK (and especially the speccing of models and the detail in brochures) between arranging their WI meetings.

There is no pride in what that lot generates. Be it the brochures or car spec (for example it took FOUR years before said secretaries realised the Yeti is the ONLY Škoda on which you can't spec MDI...)

that's what I mean, surely they won't do an aftermarket replacement that only uses a single side!

I'm sure they will us both if prodded, they are great guys at milltek

That's a bit sexist isn't it...

Oh joy

Just ordered mine :D

Nice one. What spec?

Also after 19 inch wheels however a little issue as they are a dealer fit not factory option and at goodwood it said they are £1000 but my dealer reckon more £2000 but will see.

White with red sounds like a great choice, congratulations.

But a minimum of £1,000 to upgrade from 18" to 19" wheels? When it is only £350 to upgrade from 17" to 18" on a non VRS Octavia - that's a total rip off. That is the same money that Porsche charge for a similar upgrade!

Tell me about it, the dealer has said they'll give me the 20% staff discount so if they are £1000 then ill get them at £800 which i think they could be worth but its also due to being a non factory fit so ill update next week when they find out.

As for interior i saw both in the white car at goodwood and preferred the contrast with the red

Any idea what tint level the privacy glass is Rob? The Sunset on the MKII was a bit weedy for my taste so I am hoping that it will be darker on the MKIII. Cheers.

I think its going to be a light one allowing maybe 70-80% of light through, i prefer a lighter tint as hate the dark tits against no tint on front windows which was the mistake i went for on my mk2 as i think tints are too dark

The wheel issue is odd at the mo, I've heard if u go to 19in u keep the 18in set too which is why cost is high?
