Issues?

Of just me?

1. Not exactly pin-point if the oil cap is actually leaking or not

2. Going over big wide speed bumps(not the stiff strip ones - but tarmac ones abt 1-2metres long)...

Whn going on it and off there is a heavy muffled squeak of the chassis?

3. Winding of belt?

1st time heard it last night (i usually have stereo on)

- a repetitive noise as if a belt is telling u its done one rotation?

Sorry cant describe noise

4. Speakers

Yes - it distorts, squeaks and vibrates under certain frequencies :-(

Sometimes i think the car is making mechanical noises -

but its the speakers :-(

Whining over - still loving and enjoying Audrey!

And just tht alone makes everythingelse trivial :-)

  • It's taken me a week to read this thread after my own Superb purchase! I can only say how gutted I am you sold Audrey! It was like a soap opera I didn't want to end. What am I going to do tomorrow?!

  • That's one hell of an aerial on the back there!...

  • It's not an aerial; it's the pole that makes contact with the ceiling grid.

2. Prod-Screen

wot was Skoda thinking of?

Its slow, it ned your 100% attention while u try to SCROLL,

prod and thn make sure your prodding worked?!!!

a car accident waiting to happen! :-(

This used to bug me too, so I reluctantly turned on "acoustic feedback" (Setup button > Display > Acoustic feedback > On). Now it beeps when you press anything, so you know it's registered the prod.

Turning off confirmation beeps is normally the first thing I do on any gadget/phone/camera but with the Columbus I think the benefits outweigh the cons. Maybe give it a try and see what you think.

This is the AirCon - Or, should i say, it is on mine - turn the AC off and the noise goes away.

Cheers AntiChoke - beep is on!

Thks UKCruiser - cheers! Will do!!!!

Al

if you are getting a noise when the ac is on might be a worn bearing on the pump,if your car is still in warranty get skoda to have a look.

Done it since new Bill, Like a belt-squeak... Due for 1st MOT in April, will ask them to check it out as it will still be under warranty then :)

Al.

Not a squeak on mine.

It was more of a erm...dunno, it just sound like whn something

spins round and the bit where it hits the lowest point of gravity

a sound is heard.....

...but still yet to test with aircon off...

Al!

Use WD40?

Hmmm

Just entered Audrey into BlackCircle and it came back with 92Y too..

Maybe i misheard Thomasz...

My apologies to Thomasz.

Audrey is 92Y

But, if going for Winter 16" thn it must be 94.

Why is that? (I don't know the answer).

Why is that? (I don't know the answer).

Jake!

I was curious wot weight rating tyres Audrey required.

I kept thinking it was 94.

But members here has confirm it is 92.

But Thomasz at SkodaParts has confirm:

92Y for Audrey s 18" tyres.

But 94 for 16" winter tyres.

Sorry, I meant: why 94 for 16" winter wheels, and 92 for 18" wheels? Is it to do with tyre width?

  • Author

No idea!

Something to do with 18" have stiffer walls?

Or is it winter tyres being softer compound so need to be 94 (not 92?)

Nothing to do with with it being winter or summer tyres, all 16” and 17” Superb tyres need to be 94

A little test today to see how efficiency, Audrey is:

Btw 2,000 - 2,500 rpm for 61miles mostly motorway (cough cough mph) 48.7mpg :

image_zps5b42e90d.jpg

Average 2000rpm 70mph 140miles: 57.3mpg

image_zps63cdeaff.jpg

Average 1700rpm 56mph for 90miles: 57.9mpg

image_zps0585506d.jpg

Officially 37mpg + 55mpg = 47 (combined)

....i feel Audrey done pretty gud! :-)

Chan110 - If you want some Dr Leather wipes to try out, PM me and I'll post you some in a food storage bag FOC.
